Location, location, location. Clean sheets and good water pressure ! The place is really basic, no frills at all, but if you want to be bang in the centre of Lucerne then it's perfect. Friendly staff.

We were only in Lucerne for two days three nights and arrived during a heat wave. The reception staff were lovely and spoke very good english & were able to help us with information about visiting places. The room was very clean (cleaned daily) and had everything we needed, we were able to use the pool (pool towels provided) etc.... More

This was the most smallest hotel we had ever stayed in! It has so many minus points but just two plus points- the admirable location, and the cleanliness of the rooms! First of all, the reception was not in the hotel Rosli but in another adjacent hotel. The receptionist was very adamant and refused to let any eatables inside the... More

Great location but the worst hotel ever seen in my life.I stayed and slept everywhere and in all ways in my life but never seen a hotel like this; the receptionist is a sort of a zombie who never smile, rude and impolite, it's too pricy for the range of average hotels, the rooms are filled with bugs, untidy, sheet lumped and stained... We booked the Roesli guest house and expected crappy things, but luckily we had our 6-bed room in Baslertor hotel right across the guest house. No complaints as we were very happy with the room, location, and no additional charge.

We were two people in September 2014, excellent location, no car parking, a very small room, without air condition with a noisy ventilation, no breakfast, no kettle, no refrigerator, but the worst of all we were attacked by bed bugs causing us terrible skin rashes !!!

Third floor room, no lift, no air conditioning. Not real clean. Ok room layout for 4 people. Shower good, bathroom small. Loud at 3:00 am as windows had to be open. Check in down the street at Baslertor Hotel. Nice desk help, very cold pool, kids bailed out in 3 minutes. Neat street, great location. Parking at lot 1 block... More

Lodging here is an interesting experience, although not one that I'd ever want to repeat. This quaint pension-like hotel has some nice decorative touches (e.g. old-fashioned vases/flowers/doilies; fascinating b/w photos of 1920s Lucerne on the walls). Also sweet views out to the river and a cobblestoned courtyard. Great location and not too noisy in our particular room. Another redeemimg feature... More

Pros: Location, location, location and free reliable wifi in the rooms. This was considered a "budget" hotel at $160-180 Euros a night. Close to everything/right in the middle of downtown. Cons: My room had a very bad odor to it; like something was dead inside the walls type of smell or strong urine odor. About the only solution was to... More

Clean, neat, and modern interior (the hotel room). The lobby looks charming, decorated with cute Swiss knick-knacks, from what I remembered. One of the few European hotels that offers one room for 5-6/7 people at a great rate! The bedroom wasn't too cramped for my family of five to suffer. Bathroom is quite lovely and spacious. Staff are fluent in... More
