This hotel was our last stop on a fantastic tour of Switzerland and it ruined all the happy memories of the trip. The room was tiny, claustrophobic, unbearably hot, (no a/c), noisy, lacking in drinking glasses, kleenex and shower caps, with saggy matresses and polyester pillows and duvets. The bathroom mirror was dirty and the wall mounted hairdryer didn't work... more

We stayed here with Globus and loved our stay. The verandah area is great for having a drink with friends. It's in a great position - close enough to walk into the town centre past the lake, with heaps happening along there as well. The rooms are basic, but comfortable enough. Disappointed there was no fridge in the rooms though. more

This was the last hotel we stayed in and by far the best. We had a lovely room and unlike some other reviews had a lovely bathroom with a balcony. The bedroom was huge with 2 double french doors and a balcony with table and chairs. The food was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. No air-conditioning but with... more

After having walked all day I stumbled across this hotel on my way into Lucerne. Initial reaction was wow gbecasue the hotel has a great looking interior on the ground floor and the staff seemed nice and the prices was reasonable for a 4 star hotel (190 swiss francs per night). My room was nice with a great view of... more

I have just completed my first ever bus tour, A Globus tour of the Alpine Countries and enjoyed it immensely. Globus takes care of everything including the hotels. The Grand Hotel Europe is the one they got wrong. A lovely old building in a good location across from the lovely Lake Lucerne, it was when you got inside that you... more

Most of the reviews I read complained that this hotel catered to tour groups. I was with an Incentive Travel Award group, so I did not have much contact with the hotel staff, The hotel itself is beautiful. We had a Triple room which was actually quite spacious. The bathroom was split into 2 with the shower & commode in... more

Unlike other reviews, we loved this Hotel We had a top floor room overlooking the lake. There was 3 of us and we had 3 separate beds that were comfortable. Two windows opened up to the view over the lake and Mount Pilatus. Lucerne is a gorgeous place. The village has a beautiful winding bridge and lovely buildings. We spent... more

Of all the hotels our Globus tour group stayed in, this one was my least favorite. Outwardly, in the lobby and dining rooms, the hotel is very pretty. But the beauty stops above the ground floor. Our rooms varied greatly - from a nice-sized one overlooking the lake to a tiny one to mine which was nice-sized, but looking across... more

We were allocated Room 105 and on entering saw that it had a small double bed, tiny bathroom but a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. Don’t be deceived, the hotel is advertised as being ‘on the lake’. It is in fact one block back but you can still see the lake which is lovely. We are a mother and daughter... more

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a room facing the lake. The view was spectacular. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very helpfull if you need help in planning your activities. The bar area is a little on the smokey side but that is something you will find everywhere in Europe. This hotel was a... more
