Pretty standard hotel getting old. Elevator capacity is pretty small (only for 4 persons). Breakfast included and the waitress was super-efficient. Only disadvantage is the bathroom and toilet is shared in a common area. I guess everything in Lucerne is expensive. Its location is its main attraction as it was just an 8 minute walk to the train station and... More

This hotel offers good value for money for budget-minded travellers in Switzerland. Although located about 1 km from the train station on the quiet end of Pilatusstrasse, one can easily reach the city center by walking 10 min. Contrarily to Geneva, Lausanne and Bern, the hotel does not offer a free bus pass to its guests. However, most attractions can... More

We had trouble finding a value hotel in Lucerne especially since we spent it during the Lucerne festival. Finally, we found the Hotel Alpha. It met all the needed requirements. Walking distance from the train station. Walking distance to the old town. It was clean and comfortable. We stayed using the shared bathroom floor. The bathrooms were spotless. Our room... More

A very short ten minute walk to the old town from this pleasant, formally school/convent converted to a pension. Breakfast is standard, but well supplied by very friendly staff were helpful to many questions. As our guidebook said, a little noisy in the evenings from the street traffic below, but the trade-off with cost was well worth it! Nothing fancy,... More

I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Alpha in Lucerne with my two children (12 and 15) and my husband. We were looking for a quality hotel that was safe and budget friendly. This hotel met all of our needs. The rooms were spacious and super clean. We didn't mind sharing a shower and toilet area as it was clean... More

I have Just come back from The Hotel Alpha in Lucerne Switzerland. This very friendly B & B is the perfect place to stop in Lucerne. Situated just at the back of the town, but within easy reach of all transport facilities. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, also very fluent in English. I cannot recommend this hotel... The room is extremely spacious. Good quality bed with brand new springs I believe. As the hotel is at a quiet area, the room is silent even it is facing the street with windows opened. The shared bathroom is super clean. Friendly staff. Postcard service with stamps is available. The breakfast is superb with normal choices of ham, yogurt, croissants,... More

Nice little "boutique" hotel in Lucerne. Hotels are very pricey and this one is not far from that. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no TV's nor phones in each room and whatever you do make sure you have your own bathroom as some do not. Breakfast is included which in some areas will cost you... More

Hotel Alpha is in a quiet neighborhood, less than a 10 minute walk from the old city and all the key sites. It is a great value in an expensive country and city. Our room was quite spacious, and well appointed. Breakfast was included and very adequate. Everything was extremely clean, and service was friendly and thorough. Parking is available,... More
