The Baslertor is a functional hotel which offers a no frills basic accommodation in a great location. You are not going to spend too much time inside four walls when in Luzern. We just needed a family room to crash in the evening after the sight seeing. So it was ok for us at a decent price. The family room... More

Stayed here for one day/night and even though the rooms (four of us had booked 2 rooms) were quite alright and clean, the toilets, that too in both our rooms, were really stinky and too small. I don't know whether it was the old shower curtains or that the cleaning staff just doesnt clean it properly or what but they... More

we arrived at this hotel without a booking, though the male receptionist said no problem but the room would be 30 minutes before it was ready, fine we returned 30 minutes later not ready eventually 4 hours later the room was ready (incidently not a word of apology). It was certainly not worth the wait, peeling paint on the doors... More

We have never experienced such a terrible hotel. Do not stay here. When we arrived, the receptionist woman was extremely rude and was very put out when I asked a simple question. She insisted we pay for our two night stay right away but stated she did not have time to give me a receipt as she was very busy.... More

Unless you are a backpacker, do not stay here. We were on the 4th floor in the attic with no air conditioning in a filthy room with bees, spiders, flies, you name it. I woke up with a bite my first morning. No wonder they make you pre-pay here, everyone would leave after the first night. Location is great but... More

we, a family of our, arrived around noon only to be told that the room could only be accessed after 4pm (3pm in print elsewhere) but we were able to leave all our things in a supervised luggage room, which was nice. When we finally did get to the room, we were a bit disappointed by the lack of any... More

We are 4 friends and we stayed one night in this hotel. The room was quite big, but because of the extra beds became smaller. But still enough space four of us. Big plus is the location and the friendly staff. They were very helpful and polite. We got breakfast in our room. The breakfast was very big, several types... More

This has been the absolutely worst hotel I have stayed in due to a variety of factors. Firstly, the rooms were tiny and despite asking for a room to accomodate my family of 5, we were given a small room suitable for 2 people with 2 sofabeds and 1 foldable bed squeezed into the room. We had hardly any space... More

We were meant to originally be staying at the Hotel Rosli across the street which is a part of the Hotel Baslertor. When we walked past it on the street we were extremely disappointed and were dreading staying here, it looked dirty and unkempt. We had to go to the Hotel Baslertor reception to check-in expecting to be told we... More
