We stayed here for one night. The location of the hotel is great, across the road from the rail station and close to the lake and major sights. The rooms were very clean but outdated and the bathrooms had a institutional feel to them. If we were to stay only one day in Lucerne on our way to another place... More

We stayed in the Hotel Monopol, Lucerne for three nights in the last week of October. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It is the next closest thing to the train station. The lake is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel and the tourism information office is across the road. The reception staff were very helpful.... More

It was an excellent location right across the street from the rail station and close enough to see Lake Lucerne from the breakfast room. We got an excellent deal of $106CHF per night = $85 USD. The catch is you have absolutely no view whatsoever with the cheaper rooms as we opened up our window to the wall of the... More

We stayed for six nights at the Monopol in March 2004. Our stay was very enjoyable, breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable. This must be the closest you can get to a railway station and the tourist information office, which came in quite handy. All in all a wonderful stay and we would surely go there again... More

We stayed at the Hotel Monopol in Mid October for four nights. It was in fact, very reasonably priced. We stayed on the sixth floor and had a fantastic view of the mountains from our hotel room. The bathroom was spacious and so was our room. Breakfast was served in a spacious dining area and a very relaxed atmosphere. The... More

well, paying 80US for a 4star hotel in Luzern, a hotel which is just cross a road from the trainstation, what's more do I ask for? But some reviews are true, there is no iron/ironing board/tea coffee making kettle in the room so we can only grab two glass of hot water from the bar at groundfloor. But the room... More

We arrived early. Our luggage was left by the reception desk, by an open door, not a locked room, for 4 hours. The elevator stops on a landing between floors. We had to drag our luggage up a flight of steps. No bell boys in this hotel. We accidently discovered that the room doors do not lock when you close... More
