As I'm on a tour, this is the hotel that I can 'check' out my other tour mates room. My room is defintely much bigger than my room mates. We have 1 big bed, 1 3seater sofa (my tour mates have 1 seater armchair), one big long table (theirs are about half the size of ours), toilet is big with... more

Part of our Package Tour of Europe, we were expecting to be belittled in Schiller Hotel but was booked instead in Astoria. Though fairly small, it was a very clean hotel... but we arrived in Lucern in the evening and the shops are already closed! We tried going around the town, but it was deserted at 8pm already!!! Just the... more

Hotel was really central to the township. The reception area foyer was huge and all white - looked sterile and uninviting. Our room was very 'minimal' - no bath, no fridge or tea/coffee amenities, no information brochures, one pillow with a thin mattress, one power point (and that was in the bathroom), no where to put your suitcases (other than... more

We had just spent a week in Interlaken at a dumpy hotel. When we walked into the Astoria we were ecstatic. It was bright, clean, roomy, modern. The rooms are beautiful. We had large bed with spotless white linens, very large bathroom with white ceramic floor, apx 6 ft vanity counter, large shower (no tub). Loads of windows too. One... more

We stayed here on our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful, modern, and immaculate! Reception staff were very friendly and helpful! There is free Wifi in the coffee shop downstairs. It is in a great location; five minute walk from both Lake Lucerne and the Main train station. more

As soon as I stepped into the room, I was surprised to see that everything was white. It reminded me very much of Ikea. Everybody in my tour group was complaining that the bathroom did not have a door but that did not bother me since I was just sharing the room with my 9 year old daughter. What bothered... more

We stayed at the Astoria for 3 nights in late May 2009 as part of a cruise package. Our room was on the 6th floor. Unfortunately, every night we were awoken between 2:30am-5:00am by the noise emanting from the nightclub below. Loud and drunken patrons, noise from car stereos and from party revelers as they remained in the street until... more

very tiny room, noisy and too warm -- ineffective a/c. Nice roof top restaurant but watch out when the night club closes at 0400. No internet and disinterested staff. more
