There are TWO Hotel de la Cloche's ~ One in France, and one in Geneva. I accidentally made a reservation at the wrong one. Luckily we caught it in time. The charming old looking building is in France - NOT Geneva, Switzerland.

Great little hotel, friendly helpful staff, clean and pleasant room with great view of the town and bay, which was a short walk away. I stayed with friends and we were out for much of the day siteseeing. Breakfast was a small variety but enought to get us started for the day and mornings that we missed breakfast, the staff...

Arriving late at night decided to book here rather than pay an inflated price for somewhere only to sleep for a few hours. Charming old worlde guest house which is a in a large flat just yards from the lake - highlight of the stay was opening the window in the morning and looking out on the jet d'eau.

My mother-in-law stayed here when she came to Geneva to visit me for a weekend. This hotel is bare-bones (could use a few pictures on the wall to brighten up the room) but a great deal for Geneva - you can use the money you save on accomodations for other things (chocolate! cheese!)
Hotel de la Cloche is a fantastic bed & breakfast hotel (with one star), very very close to the Geneva lake. The hotel is placed on the first floor of a house, with a warm and homely ambience.
In the reception saloon, there is a very nice fireplace. We had a nice room, with two beds (double bed), a desk...

I was excited to stay at this hotel after reading all the great reviews. Under the advice of all the reviews to book early, I made the booking for the 2 nights of Jan 19-20 on November 10, so, over 2 months beforehand. (I actually made my initial inquiry about rooms even earlier than that date, but my booking was...

On a bit of a budget, we were recommended this hotel. It certainly saved us money to go to some nice restaurants.
It was very very warm everywhere, but opening the windows let in the noise from building work in the morning.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing as it was just french bread and jam. The 'bathroom' was christened the...

The Hotel is located near the lake and only a 10 minute walk from the railway station. The room we had was adequate comfortable and quiet. The breakfast served in your room was french bread with tea or coffeee only. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The accomodation is by no means luxurious but o.k. for a few days. Good restaurents...

In terms of a well located and cheap place to stay in Geneva this meets a need and has some good points as follows:
Delightful, helpful owners
Good simple breakfast - fresh bread and jam
Great location - few minutes from lake and close to public transport
Clean rooms and interesting building - if slightly faded grandeur.
However, be warned,...

We spent three nights at de la Cloche in Geneva, mainly because I read some reviews about it and they said quite nice things. After that it was a bit of a shock to see what it is really like.
First, it was not easy to get in the hotel itself as it is on the first floor of a...
