The hotels in Bern are very expensive and the city is really lacking nice, mid-priced hotels. That said, this hotel was one of the cheaper hotels (though not actually so cheap, we paid around 180CHF/double room). The building and rooms are quite outdated, but it was easy to get our key although we came when the reception was closed (they have something like a key-vending machine where we entered the code they gave us). The rooms were clean though and it was quiet (but only with the window closed as it is near the train tracks are nearby and it is loud).
I did, however, quite liked the breakfast, which was included in the room price. I was surprised to see they serve an organic breakfast and although the selection was small: granolas, yogurts, fresh fruit, pastries, bread, and cheeses. But everything was very tasty and the fresh bread they had was fantastic. The staff were also very friendly.
