Located about a 5 min walk from the train station and about 15 mins into the centre of the old town. The hotel has a fairly old feel to it, however the room was surprisingly large, relatively comfortable (noise aside) and had tv and free wifi. I was on the 5th level and the lift only goes to level 4... More

This is a good hotel, five minute walk from the train station and central to many sites. I am a light sleeper and was granted a quiet room location on the third floor facing a courtyard. By Swiss standards the room was large and the price was excellent compared to hotels in other large Swiss cities. WiFi worked fine and... More

The National Hotel Bern, is a 5 minute walk with luggage from the train station, and a 10 minute walk to the clock tower. This hotel was central to what we needed to do in 'old, central' Bern. We stayed in room 501, right on the top floor. The elevator only goes to the 4th floor, you have to walk... More

This friendly hotel is located in walking distance to the main railway station and the famous old town of Berne, Switzerland. However, the friendly staff cannot make up for the fact that this is a rather poor hotel in relation to guest rooms (I've stayed in a regular double room) and breakfast. Therefore, the price/performance ratio is limited. My double... More

It all depends on your standards & expectation, but for us it was the worst hotel that we have stayed in so far. The rooms are too tiny, smelly with little or no ventilation. Bedding was not comfortable at all. Elevator does not go further than the 3rd floor, so if you are staying here request for rooms on 2nd... More

t is what it is. A smaller, boutique hotel with an older style feel to it. It’s a good 15 minute walk from the station, so don’t believe what the hotel is written. I’d still give it 4 stars for what it’s worth as I liked the feel to the hotel and how warm every staff was. The only down... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in July2014. Switzerland is expensive as are the hotels, although this hotel was on the cheaper end it was not worth the money. It is undergoing heavy construction at the moment which seriously impacts your stay, it should be closed to guests. Although the construction work was noted on my booking reference (booking.com)... Small rooms, thin walls were only the beginning. When I then came home to the sound a jack hammer pounding down the wall in the room above, it was too much. I spoke to the reception staff about the construction, which continued until 8pm on one of the days I was there. They simply said, well we can't do anything... More

We spent a week-end at this hotel and we would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is housed in an old, grand, building with very high ceilings, also in the rooms. The floors are all wooden and the general feel is very cozy. There is not much furniture in the rooms, but this leaves them with a sense of space and... More

The location was good--close to the railway station and walking distance from the Clock Tower, Parliament building and the Aare bridge. Sadly, nothing else was good. The room was extremely small; the bathroom was as good as non-existent. The breakfast was also not good--hardly any options. It was too pricey for the facilities it offered. Not worth even if you...
