My 2-night stay @ Bern Backpackers (also known as Hotel Glocke) was my 1st time @ a hostel so i didn't quite know what to expect. I had a single room that was small & spartan; very simply furnished with just a bed, small desk & chair and a wash basin with mirror above it. Clean sheets & towels were... more

We only stayed one night but found the facilities to be clean and well-maintained with individual lockers, lights, bedside shelves and power points for each person in the dorms. Although there was no breakfast, they have a kitchen (with toaster and coin operated coffee machine) and there are lots o grocery stores and cafes nearby so it was no problem.... more

We stayed in a 2-bed private room for two nights, and found this to be a great hostel. It was clean and the location was very good – central to Bern without being too noisy. The common area was big and bright and the kitchen is the best-equipped one I’ve come across in my travels through Europe. We could access... more

As far as hostels go, this looked very nice. We stayed in an actual double room with a bathroom. It was a clean room (as was the whole place), with very simple furnishings. The door to the bathroom was so narrow that some people might have trouble fitting through it. There was only one towel for each of us and... more

We stayed for 1 night in late May. This was the only hostel we stayed in but I've stayed in quite a few hostels and will base my review against other hostels, although I'm not sure how this would compare to other Switzerland hostels. It was in a good location not far from the train station and in the middle... more

Stayed 3 days at Bern Backpackers and really enjoyed my stay. Staffs are friendly. I stayed at a room for 4 and the room is clean and nice. Hostel provides a good kitchen and laundry too. The common room is cozy. It's nice sitting there eating self-prepared dinners. One could also enjoy reading a book, watching tv etc. The location... more

Its about 7-8 minutes walking distance from the train station. They have a luggage room. We stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm The rooms were nice. There are lockers available in the rooms. The toilets and bathrooms are clean. The kitchen and common area is fabulous.... we loved it! Most attractions are within walking distance. Its one of the... more

Apart from reception being closed for a few hours over lunch, this was a great place to stay and we had no complaints. Bern is pretty small so most places including the station are within a 15 minute walk, and there are trams very close by as well. Our room was a very spacious 4 person (1 bunk, 2 singles)... more

We stayed 1 night in a private double. This was our first night in Swiss accommodation and were happily surprised with the size of the room. The bathroom was practical and we had a nice view down the street. Being a hostel, there was a modern and clean common room as well as a well equipped kitchen. We paid 70... more

Located within a 5-10 minute walk from the main train station, or you can catch a tram if you're carrying heavy bags. Everything is within a walking distance. Bern's central location means that other cities like Lucerne, Geneva, Zurich, Lausanne are day-trippable. The rooms and shared bathrooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly, and common room was well equipped... more
