The continental is an O.K. hotel, good value, good central location, but the rooms are very basic and the air conditioning is not up to hot summer nights... Very pleasant hotel. Very central. Front desk staff very polite and helpful. No air conditioning so make sure you get a room facing the backyard.since the street is very busy especially on the weekends. Our room was very large with separate toilet/shower rooms. Stay one night with my wife in December 2008. Location in the city center and proximity to train station lead us to this hotel. My daughter, granddaoghter & I stayed here after booking through their website. It's about a 10 minute flat walk from the train station and is located in the Old Town, so it was an easy walk everywhere in this charming town. Bern is such a great place and this hotel is right in the hub of market life in the city. Waking distance to the train station, the morning markets and the beautiful river!
