Too modern and cold for my taste. Everything worked and staff were fine, but the decor is minimalist and the shower/bath simply too tiny. It reminded me of business hotels in Japan--functional, but little personality. The view of the city is good, but it's a good 20-minute walk to the station. Breakfast/internet not included in room rate and are expensive. more

A nice hotel with tram stop right out front, 10 mins to town centre, rooms small but clean, very helpful staff. I'd stay again. Japanese restaurant was a little pricey and food "minimalist". more

Stayed there from July 16 to 18, 2009. If going from the Main Train Station you must take bus #9 which stops in front of the hotel. Rooms and nice but the bathroom is weird and I don’t recommend this hotel for elderly. Other than that it’s a very affordable hotel. On a 1 to 100 basis I would give... more

Room was small but clean, not what I would expect for 4 stars however. The food was of a very high quality and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good tram service to centre of town. Pool area was well equipped. more

The staff were efficient, speaking English and French as well as German. The room was very modern, spotless and not small as other reviews have suggested. The division between the bedroom and bathroom was done in very modern semi-tranluscent blue glass. The breakfast area was large, very clean and well-lit. The buffet breakfast was a typical Swiss-German breakfast with lots... more

OK FOR SHORT STAY: Accurate write-up by others. Hotel is a bit out and virtually nothing nearby, but tram runs every 10 min to city. Property in general OK condition, though the usage of old style keys reflects the age of the propertyy. Rooms are fairly small and in a very modern styling. Lighting was good and bedding was acceptable... more

My friend and i loved the Ambassador. The front desk staff were excellent. They all spoke excellent English. The hotel has a pool and a sauna. It also has free garage parking which is excellent considering we were on a driving holiday. It is very easy to find. It is a little ways from the center of town but the... more
