Just had a week in Basel based at this hotel and I have only good things to say about the experience. Friendly staff, nicely decorated and spotless room and in a great location for exploring the city. The receptionist sold me a three day Basel card (for 35 CHF) and this allowed me to get half price into many museums... More

I spent here three nights for a business trip. Hotel was clean, beautiful and historic, rooms were spacious, bathroom spotless, cleaning every day. Breakfast with plenty of options with fresh garnish and fruits. Business lunch very good too (though I dont know if it is openly available all guests or just for special order). Only thing I missed was bar.... More

The clean and spartan approach to comfort here gave me a good night's sleep during a business trip. The Hasena bed and furnishings very comfortable. The decor contemporary and bright. The bath spacious enough and quite functional. The wifi was great. Appreciated the coffee room. The breakfast room is full of natural light.

We stayed in this hotel in December and were pleasantly surprised! It is a very nice hotel in a residential neighborhood, but within easy walking distance to the downtown and old town areas. The room was very large and quiet and simply furnished, but very functional. The bathroom was large and very clean. The receptionists were very pleasant, helpful, and... More

The history of this place as a monastery is reflected in the modern day hotel. Simple, clean , without fripperies or luxury is the way it works. It is comfortable and friendly, with the simple food being of good quality. I was here on business and had a good nights sleep then used several of the meeting rooms which were... More

I was here during the long weekend of November 1st. The hotel is situated in an "old" mission house, about 10 walking minutes from the historical centre. Room 450 was not too big, but neither small. It has only one small window which is to the street side. It is a bit difficult to sleep with this window closed as... More

Booked into the Bildungszentrum 21 as only hotel available in Basel for that night. I have to say that the cost was very reasonable, CHF250 for a 'suite', and the reception staff delightfully friendly. However, by hotel standards this was pretty poor, very 1980s. Virtually no food or drink on offer, tiny, tiny beds, minimal bathroom facilities and the whole... More

I had stayed for years at this hotel this year reserved 6 months in advance for Basel Art Fair 3 nights daily price CHF 350. I had to cancel one week prior to arrival, was billed the full amount even though during the last week prices went down on a daily basis to CHF 200 and CHF 195 per day... More

When I read the good reviews, I had high expectations. But this place does not hold up. No restaurant, no bar, no minibar. The beds were of poor quality (only single beds). Rooms are very spacious indeed, and we could comfortably be in one room ( 2 adults, 2 small kids). The bathroom was quite bizarre, as it's actually fitted... More
