We were lucky enough to get parking - there's a small parking area in front of the hotel. We were warmly greeted and the room was nice, clean and spacious. The location was nice - we weren't in Basel long enough to know if it's an ideal location. We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend it to anyone. more

Stayed at the Spalentor during Euro 2008, so it was very busy. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, who are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are larger than the average, and decently furnished. But the hotel is right on a busy junction, with trams, lorries and buses making quite a din until the early hours. Not... more

This lovely little hotel is well situated across the street from the historic city gate called the Spalentor (circa 1398). Our room was #203 located with a lovely view of the gate.
