When I was told we would be staying at a castle in Perugia, I expected either an old uncomfortable, damp and dank place or a new Disneyworld style hotel. I was wrong, this was neither. Even with a GPS we had a hard time finding the place, but when we did, we were all glad. The front desk is small,... More

My husband and I had the great chance to experience a night stay at this splendid place. The castle is located up the hill between Assisi and Perugia. The location is convenient to visit both cities,20 minutes from Assisi and 5 minutes from the center of Perugia. The views from the castle are amazing !!! You definitely need a car... More

A first sleepover in a castle! Already from the parking lot, extreme attention to detail, beautiful surroundings and excellent service and cleanliness are obvious. The superior room was a little small but wonderfully functional and perfect for a short stay. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of sweet and salty choices. Will definitely be back!

As almost all other reviews have stated -there is very little negative about this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in October and used the Castello as a hub to visit Assisi, Gubbio and other smaller towns. Yes you need a GPS, and yes it is an easy trek by car into town. The ambiance is what you expect -... More

Enjoyed my one night here – wish I could’ve stayed longer. As a castle lover, I could not pass up the opportunity to overnight at this lovely accommodation. The décor throughout was appropriate to the setting, including the furniture in the room. Friendly, helpful staff (one person at front desk). Very clean, comfortable room that looked like you were in... More

Dear WItraveli, thanks for your review and for your stay at the castle, even though it was for job and not for leisure. We feel happy that you have found a nice accommodation and you have appreciated the views and the dinner in our restaurant. Concerning the wi-fi, as the castle is a "difficult" building with complex structure, it may... More

Who doesn't want to sleep in an old castle overlooking the Umbrian hills? I know I did and I surely do not regret it. If you are visiting Perugia and fancy to treat yourself this place will not disappoint. Located few kilometres outside o Perugia (10 mins drive) and 20 minutes from Assisi, the Monterone castle is gorgeous and run... More

What a great place to stay. We loved every minute here. Our room was small but beautifully furnished with a wonderful view out over the pool to the surrounding hills. As it was winter we enjoyed watching the misty colours wash over the entire landscape as we lounged in the very comfortable bed. Too cold for the pool but we... More

The setting. Is lovely though a bit austere. The room was clean, small and the bathroom had been updated. Not a lot of people around to help with luggage etc. and parking lot is small.we had a large car for six of us. The roads are a bit difficult to negotiate into Perugia which is five minutes by car, so... More
