This hotel is a bargain for central Perugia. However, the funicular was closed for maintenance ( all August!) so one reason for choosing it ( handy location for it) was not relevant. We also chose a family room and our friends got a balcony but we did not. I see from the reviews that some rooms have great views, surprising... More

The best thing about this small hotel is its price- very reasonable if you are looking for something cheap and central. Booked on line in advance, for eight days it cost 240 euro. It is in a little street around the corner from the imposing façade of the church of San Ercolano, which you can see daily as you go... More

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The location was perfect and having our own balcony to the room was such an added pleasure. We kept joking that we felt like Romeo and Juliet! The room itself felt like something right out of an Italian storybook, very pretty and comfortable. Free parking was available literally 2 minutes away from the... More

We stayed there only one night, and found the hotel a little old and dusty. However, it's in the city center, so you can really just walk around and enjoy the narrow streets of Perugia. Don't buy breakfast at the hotel, it's better to have one at a "bar". Ask at the reception for a special permit to park in... More

The only positive was the clean sheets. I chose the hotel because it was written that there is free parking. This is a complete lie!! "Free parking" at the foot of the town and the road is not safe. We lost half a day to find a hotel and parking. In the end we paid 16 euros for parking and... More

The owners and staff are welcoming, nice people. Rooms are clean but small, main complaint was the towels, more like a linen tea towel, not very absorbent..it would be nice if they had a few fluffy towels with which we could dry our hair ! I have seen this elsewhere in Italy, Dont stay here if you are alergic to... More

Hotel San Ercolano turned out to be a good budget choice. Despite its central location - hidden in some alley - parking was not a problem. The friendly staff directed me to a nearby free-parking location. (There are two, one requiring a permit issued by the hotel). My single room was sufficient for a one-night stay. It was basic and... We will not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Perugia who do not expect extravagant breakfasts and primarily use their room for sleeping/resting: afterall, breakfast to an Italian is not a high priority and you will want to spend your time in the streets, restaurants and bars of the city! For a 2-star hotel, Sant'Ercolano gives... More

The room and bathroom were clean. It was very much a budget hotel but a comfortable stay. The first morning we went out for breakfast and the next morning we had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was disappointing but then we realised that it was no different anywhere else. The hotel is very close to the main piazza's -... More

We stayed in another budget accommodation out of the centre and ended up paying 30 euros in taxis and had to put up with pretty unhelpful staff. It was a mistake. We moved to Sant Ercolano and the staff were amazingly helpful, it was so very central, right by the minimetro, close to museums, restaurants, bars, late night cafes... everything... More
