The hotel is really nice and pretty, some outdoor space and a view of the mountain. The room was incredibly small but the Italians are minimalists, right? The hotel was just outside the town so really easy to just park and forget about the car for a few days. We just so happened to be in town for the Race... More

Not much to add to previous reviews. The location of the hotel on the edge of town was wonderful. Contrary to some other Reviewers, I did not find the room small or inadequate in any way. Our balcony overlooked the central garden which is normal Ina building of that era. We had half pensionne, and the dinners were adequate (nothing... More

Hotel San Marco claims three stars, and if you get a better room than mine was, it might deserve them. My single room was tiny, about 2.5 m wide by 3.5, plus a small narrow bathroom and a tiny balcony with no view. Water sprayed every where from the shower and the water ran away from the waste outlet. At... More

Nothing special, nothing awful. We walked in off the street without a booking so I don't know what rate we could have gotten on the internet but I thought our rate was a little high. The room was sparse and poorly lighted but clean, large and opened onto a breezeway. The breakfast was ok but we would have preferred to... More

San Marco had a relatively good location, and the interiors were nice. The managers were insolent, we were nice, the heat never heated our room until the third day, the breakfast was dreadful coffee and croissants and bread, nothing else. Our group of 23 generally had the same opinion. I would not recommend this hotel. Of the six hotels we... More

I was travelling with a friend and my brother, we were all around 50. After travelling from the coast we eventually found Gubbio, by that time it was getting dark and we needed a hotel, Hotel San Marco is on the edge of the square, we were given a great triple room with doors that opened onto a big balcony... Stayed here for one night in August - a totally depressing experience. Gubbio is a beautiful town full of some very charming hotels. Unfortunately, this hotel is not one of them. It is situated on a busy junction, just outside the old city with a charmless interior and long corridors reminiscent of The Shining. Requested the aircon to be switched... More

I stayed here for three nights to experience the insane Festa dei Ceri and I'm so glad I was able to book this hotel last minute on the internet. Inside the modern, comfortable interior you can see the bones of the original 14th-century convent (a fact I read somewhere). My single room with shower, on an upper floor, came with... More
