We came here together with 3 other couples from the four corners of the world for a vacation/reunion, one of whom knows Gay, the owner, from way back. We could not have found a better place to spend a week together. The beautiful views, the quiet, the gardens, the location, the pool and the comfortable apartments ensured a visit we'll... More

Staying at Casa Rosa felt like we had found a piece of heaven on earth. We stayed on the Cimabue apartment (upgraded from the Masolino we had booked) and really enjoyed the peace and quiet all around us. We took day trips north to Gubbio, to Assisi, Spello and Spoleto, South west to Todi and Orvieto. The location is a... More

We chose to stay here with our two children aged 12 and 17 to wind down before spending a week in Rome and were simply blown away by the beautiful views and the tranquil atmosphere. The communal freezer stocked with home cooked pastas and ice creams was a godsend as was the selection of local wines and beers with a... More

We love casa rosa! Our week here will be in our family's heart forever! Close to Assisi but far enough away to be peaceful... Magical place - we will be back one day! Long way from home but it feels like home!

We've just come back from the most wonderful holiday at Casa Rosa, and like other reviewers we were so sad to leave - it's an amazing place. The location is beautiful and so peaceful, the apartments are well appointed, comfortable, clean and spacious, the pool is big and well looked after, and the owner and her extended family of relatives,... Casa Rosa is our favourite holiday destination and we have visited this agriturimo many times. Gay is absolutely delightful and always welcomes us with great warmth to her lovely home. It is the perfect place when you want to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing holiday. The house is situated most beautifully, the surroundings are wonderfully quiet. The apartments have all... More

We had such a wonderful holiday at Casa Rosa and wished we could have stayed longer. We all want to return so that we can enjoy more of the spectacular countryside and peacefullness of Casa Rosa. We enjoyed our meals from the freezer (!) and Giovannino's, and had a good time exploring the back roads and medieval towns. Casa Rosa... More

I found this place on the internet and hoped it would live up to its description and photos, which it did in every way. It is a converted farmhouse, situated about 10 kms out of Assisi. The house is converted into 3 apartments. The top floor has 2 bedrooms while the ground floor has been converted into 2 single bedroom... More

Of all the places we stayed throughout the world, this was by far the loveliest, most beautifully located and welcoming of all. Our lovely host Jennifer made us feel at home and comfortable and gave us very nice tips on outings and delicious restaurants in the surroundings. The apartments (we stayed both in Giotto and Lorenzetti) were very well-equipped, comfortable... More

We have just returned to a rainy England from a wonderful week at Casa Rosa. Assisi was buzzing with the annual Festa di Calendimaggio - a medieval carnival of mammoth proportions, so returning to Casa Rosa was a real tonic to the mind and body! Our home for the week was Apartment Giotto - beautifully decorated with Jennifer's (the hostess... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
CASA ROSA is a traditional stone farmhouse set high in the green hills of Umbria, central Italy, some 10 km (6 miles) north-east of Assisi. The house is divided into four holiday apartments - one large apartment occupying the whole of the first floor, two smaller apartments sharing the ground floor and one apartment in the converted stables. The Farm is surrounded by woods and farmland, located on a spur the farm has panoramic views over the National Park of Mount Subasio. The hills and forest hide martens, porcupine and wild boar, all of which have been seen on the farm. The wealth of bird life includes buzzards, goldfinches and hoopoes. In spring the meadows, fields and verges abound in wild flowers, among them poppies, cyclamen, wild gladioli, and many types of orchid. From May to July fireflies dance in the night, and through the summer the Farm is home to thirty varieties of butterfly. Along the river are waterfalls and natural pools where one can bathe in the summer. The hills, woods and valleys offer many possible routes for walking. ... more   less
