No 5-star hotel can compare to this beautiful oasis on top of a mountain, surrounded by trees, lavender, rosemary hedges and the sound of cow bells in the distance. La Tavola was a huge highlight for us, the people there were sincere and it was important to them for our stay to be special. The building, the grounds, gardens, seating... More

We were absolutely amazed by the gorgeous scenery, food, and affordable rate of this agriturismo! The area is so quiet and the view is breath-taking! I LOVED our room and the hiking trails were absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Food is added to the bill at the end of the trip (if you eat in their restaurant) but is very affordable,... More

This is a place for anybody who wants to be near the sites of Assisi, yet be lost in a hilltop environ that is full of birds, beasts and fresh air. It consists of a beautifully restored series of stone built apartments with a super restaurant on site. They make their own beer and wines, and being an "Agriturismo" establishment,... More

Although this is only about 15km from Assissi it is a world away because of the tortuous, poorly maintained roads. Once there, it offers very comfortable facilities, a menu which changes daily and very good home brewed beer. This is suitable for relaxing in situ by the pool or in the gardens, taking walks in the mountains but not as... More

Wow. This was well worth the walk to reach our goal. After our long hike the greeting from Alessandro was a bottle of "home brew" lovingly poured into cold glasses and savoured on the patio. The relaxed atmosphere, local scenery and wild life kept us happily entertained the next day. Worth a walk to explore the pigs which fascinated me... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights in the middle of September 2013. We arrived after a breathtaking drive through the Subasio national park. The place is beautiful: old stone buildings, herb bushes, and a green, peaceful surrounding. The place is very nicely designed according to the old rustic theme that is prevalent. The room was very comfortable with all... More

La Tavola has it all. Black piglets, a stunning location, amazing food, huge and friendly Maremma sheepdogs and warm, attentive hosts. Even the variable weather didn't dampen our spirits, as the San Biagio beer on offer is excellent - perfect for accompanying an afternoon game of scopa. An all-round winner!

We stayed longer than planned because of the beautiful natural and peaceful location. The food was simply amazing, all natural organic and biodynamic. Rooms are big, of impeccable stone with breathtaking views of the valley below. Alessandro is such a nice host, who really loves the place and its food. And Carmela a charming waitress. What else can you ask... More

We stayed for two nights during a hiking trip through Umbria. Despite poor weather, we enjoyed this hotel very much. The room was lovely and the food delicious. The host, Alessandro, is very gracious and helpful. Before dinner, Guests would gather in the stone room outside of the glass dining room for "home grown" beers and wine. Alessandro made everyone... This is wonderful place to stay in the Umbrian hills above Assisi and Alessandro is a most helpful and attentive host. In the day you can watch the herd of traditional black pigs lead their carefree, organic lives in the fields and woods above the hotel and by night (if you wish) you can eat their aunts and uncles, deliciously...
