I was most impressed with the responsiveness I received when booking this hotel with the Gabry, the owner. She even sent a follow up confirmation email, which was above & beyond what we expected. Assisi is on a hillside, STEPS / STAIRS & HILLS ARE INEVITABLE, prepare for this as the approach to the hotel with luggage can be grueling... More

This hotel is a little gem! It's located just a short 5 minute walk to the main piazza, Piazza Del Comune. The hotel is very clean, rooms are good sized and the views to the valley are absolutely beautiful. Wi-fi is good, too. The owner, Gabriella, is also very sweet and gives you great tips for restaurants and must-sees. Will... More

I was woken only by birdsong it was so quiet. Our room was on the small side but it contained everything that you might desire, although I imagine that my wishes are very different from your own. The bathroom was very clean and tidy with plenty of towels provided. We had fresh brioche every day and our table was set... More

Hotel Hermitage's greatest asset is its owner, Gabriella. The hotel offers great value as a comfortable place to stay, slap bang in the middle of this beautiful ancient city. Gabriella, with unlimited knowledge of the city and surrounds, can plan your visit to make it a memorable holiday. The hotel is a very affordable option that even includes breakfast and... More

This hotel is no more than average in quality. It is clean and personnel are kind. The rooms are small and there is no room for comfortable seating apart from the bed. It is a pity as the best thing of my room was the view that I could not enjoy from the bed. Beds were functional and covers rather... More

Loved Gabriella at the front desk. Helpful with map and suggestions. We were in the Picasso room and could see the whole valley below. Beautiful view. Will never forget watching a rainstorm come in from my window and the cool breeze that followed. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was for 3 nights. We were welcomed by the owner Gabriella who gave us good recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. Our room was clean and in good order. The view was incredible and the windows opened for cool air at night. Breakfast was served each morning. The location is central for all locations and makes for... More

We stayed one night in early July in a room on the first floor above the ground floor. Our two biggest challenges were getting there and the lack of air flow on a hot day. Thanks to other reviewers, we knew to take the bus from the train station and get off at the “first” stop. It goes by several... More

Gabriella makes staying at her hotel memorable. She is rightfully proud of her establishment as part of the historic buildings of Assisi. It is important for me to stay inside the city walls and so centrally located. I am amazed that these rooms are kept within the guidelines of these ancient buildings while updating them enough to make them convenient... More

While in Assisi in late February 2014, we stayed one night in the Hotel Hermitage, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived at check-in, we were made to feel like special guests. The staff was very helpful, and we were given a map of the town and given ideas as to how to maximize our time, to... More
