Let me join the general consensus on this site: an affordable, centrally located hotel with an owner and staff who is always available. The Berti was the least expensive place we stayed on our trip, but it didn't feel like we were traveling on the cheap. The room was clean and serviceable, and the owner was very nice and happy... more

We booked only one night here and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome, cleanliness and central location (right near the bus stop inside the city walls, so perfect for travellers without a car). While the triple room was really a double with an extra bed, and therefore a bit small for three adults, the hospitality of the Berti family... more

Berti was pretty much everything we look for in a travel hotel. It was charming, clean, affordable and ideally located. As for Assisi itself, we thought it was a magical place. It was t like stepping back in time. We travelled all over Italy and it remains among the most memorable of our stops. Definately recommend a vist to Assisi... more

Great small hotel in Assisi. Rented two doubles and two singles. Mr. Berti was very welcoming, ready with helpful information on bus schedules, laundry locations- he even loaned us some umbrellas when it began to pour! Small charming hotel, bigger rooms than we experienced in Rome. The building was part of the city walls and the view out of my... more

Staying at Hotel Berti was one of the highlights of our time in Italy. The hotel itself is lovely, but the thing that makes it most memorable is the owners, the Berti family. Signore Berti senior speaks very little English, but was so welcoming and friendly (and patient with our equally limited Italian!) that we were loathe to leave !... more

Hotel Berti exceeded my expectations. I had read really good reveiws on here and chose Berti based on those reveiws. I traveled solo to Rome from NJ. The train to Assisi from Rome was very convenient. It was raining upon arrival. The train stops at the the bus stop. Taxi's to Assisi were also waiting at the bus stop(after an... more

Cute hotel, right inside the Assisi walls, and definitely walkable to the city center (very hilly town, so be prepared!). The owners are very calm/layed back, and the entrance is the breakfast room and small hotel bar. There is a tiny elevator that fits about 1 person (with luggage), and otherwise there are stairs. The hotels has a warm, traditional... more

Hotel Berti was a great stop in our trip. The staff and specially Franco the owner are welcoming and very attentive. The breakfast served right there in the small cafe is just right. Franco makes a great cappucino and offered a refill (2nd cup). Their restaurant just down the street was superb for dinner. Take time to walk the small... more

I can highly recommend Hotel Berti. It is in a great location and an easy walk to everywhere including St Francis Basilica. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is adequate and filling. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, also the air-conditioning worked very well. I would definitely stay here again. more

After reading the reviews of Assisi hotels, my fiance and I decided to book two nights at Berti. The hotel is in an ideal location and is straight across the road from the first local bus stop coming from the train station. The owners were very friendly and laid back and from the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Essentially,... more
