Let me join the general consensus on this site: an affordable, centrally located hotel with an owner and staff who is always available. The Berti was the least expensive place we stayed on our trip, but it didn't feel like we were traveling on the cheap. We booked only one night here and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome, cleanliness and central location (right near the bus stop inside the city walls, so perfect for travellers without a car). Berti was pretty much everything we look for in a travel hotel. It was charming, clean, affordable and ideally located. As for Assisi itself, we thought it was a magical place.
