I spent three nice days in this Hotel, with my family. The place is close to Basilica di San Francesco, not more than 5 min by foot. It is situated then in the old town near the entrance of "Porta San Giacomo" , within the city walls , where the pelgrims arrives from their path. It is a family run... More

Loved this little hotel right in the medieval city. Our room was large and clean. Bathroom was small and old - fashioned but was fine. Nice breakfast. Lots of stairs, which were a challenge for some of the group. Lift was very small, hardly useable really. But I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights with my pilgrimage group. The hotel, which is family-owned and -run, is built into the city wall of Assisi, so it has plenty of twists and turns, and some amazing architecture. I suppose in the old days it would have been called a pensione, but it does have a restaurant for evening meals and... More

We stayed as teachers with a school group. There was hair all over our bathroom floor (the short, curly kind) and my pillow smelt like it had been slept on by a greasy head. The hair problem did not go away after the maids had been in to give us fresh towels. We ate in the hotel restaurant as arranged... More

Assisi is one of the most beautiful towns! I stayed at the San Giacomo for a whole week! The hotel is family owned and run. The family is so nice and take very good care of you with a wonderful breakfast that is included in the stay! You can also have lunch and dinner for a very small cost. All... More

Good location. Very friendly service. Breakfast was adequate, but not great. We enjoyed a good dinner in the restaurant. Our room was fine with window opening to a good view over the street. No English channels and no extra pillows. We paid to park in a lot near the hotel and after dropping off our luggage we moved our car... More

This is a two-star hotel without exception. Don't expect to be pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed about the hotel was the noise. Some irresponsible parent was letting their four children scream (literally scream, at the tops of their lungs) in the restaurant downstairs. Although we were on the second floor, the noise echoed troughout thr whole hotel. The... More

I was very excited to stay at this hotel - it had very good reviews from recent travelers. When I arrived I was told that the bathroom in my room was broken and that I was going to be staying up the street in a different place. It turned out that this other place was a monastery! If I wanted... More

Excellent location. Clean room. Quiet at night. Good restaurant. Nice breakfast included. Very good value. This is not a luxury hotel, but I found it to be pleasant due to the hard-working family who runs the hotel. They did not speak much English, but were eager to accommodate. The room was cold at first, but eventually warmed when I turned... More

I traveled with 29 other Americans and we all stayed here at San Giacomo. The service was wonderful- the meals excellent! The rooms are charming- bathrooms a little small. The towels they provide are thin- I suggest bringing your own. There is no internet service- but the front desk allowed a few of us to read our email on their... More
