Hotel Giotto is an old hotel which has been added to and renovated inside. It is very historical and rooms although small were quite clean and comfortable. The dining room downstairs is located in the old cellars and has amazing views from a large balcony across Umbria. The food was lovely fresh home cooked Italian. It was a memorable experience.... more

What an incredible find! The hotel is being fully renovated and they went out of their way to make us happy. Fabulous service. New, excellent beds in every room, which is unusual in Italy. The restaurant is one of the best we've ever eaten in, and amazingly reasonable. Even the small "coffee shop" menu is great (and they served us... more

I don’t normally write comments on websites unless something really bad or extraordinarily good happened with the product or service I have used. I have found myself compelled to write about my experience in the Hotel Giotto because of the genuinely wonderful holiday I had in Assisi. Just to say that before leaving for Assisi I had lost my job... more

My family and I stayed in the “Giotto” hotel for 6 days and we weren’t satisfied at all. It was the end of December, the weather was cold but the heating wasn’t working! Imagine our surprise, when they brought us a couple of blankets and explained that this happened even in the best hotels. We were finally moved in single... more

We were part of a choral group singing in Italy in 2006 (see our review of the Splendid Suisse hotel in Venice). This was possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in in my life. Other members of our tour had better rooms, but ours looked like it was a dorm room after a particularly wild frat party! Broken furniture,... more

Two girlfriends and I planned a last-minute weekend trip to Assisi. Every hotel we called was booked solid, but by recommendation we called the Hotel Giotto. The woman on the phone was very kind, helpful, and accommodating and we found this to be the standard of service throughout our stay there. We had a nice room at the Hotel Giotto... more

Just returned from a Trafalgar Tour to Italy...and we stayed in this poor excuse for a first-class hotel for one night. It was the only major disappointment on our trip, which was to be a first-class tour. Our tour guide was aware of its horrible conditions as evidenced in his introduction to it by offering to allow us to choose... more

I stayed with a group for one night last month. Before taveling I too had looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor and was a little leary. Upon arriving, the location and the view from the hotel was amazing. When visiting this area, staying in the city of Assisi is a must- and this hotel did not dissappoint. The rooms... more

Our choir stayed at this hotel last July for the Music Festival in Assisi. The carpet in the rooms was filty, I wouldn't walk on it with bare feet and mold in the bathrooms. Seems as if all the rooms from our group were this way. The front desk staff was unaccomodating and unfriendly. We are returning in 2009 and... more

This would have to be the worst place I have ever stayed. Extremely small, dirty and cobwebs everywhere. AC not working, bathroom tap dripped all night, no globes in the bedside lights, floodlight from the tower outside lit up our room all night and to top it all off the bed was like rock...what a terrible night. The area around... more
