I booked a couple of nights at the Malvarina and wished that I had booked more! The staff are great, the pool and its views are amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. Dinner in the evening is fantastic! Highly recommended!

Agriturismo Malvarina is nestled in the Umbrian hills about a 10-15 minute drive from Assisi. The staff are friendly and very accommodating of guests’ needs. Breakfasts are served in the cozy breakfast room – everything you could want to start your day. Dinners are truly an event – often prepared over the blazing fire right in the dining room –... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights on this lovely property near Assisi. The property dates back to the 1500s. We stayed in a spacious room attached to the main house. The room was a little dark due in part to the lighting in the room and it was cloudy during our stay. Also, there was no WIFI signal in... More

This is a beautiful property with some very nice rooms run by gracious people serving wonderful food. The family engaged us from the moment we met them. The only thing preventing a 5 rating is that the room we were initially given was unacceptable - very little natural light and no views. When we asked to be moved, however, they... More

My family (parents and 15/17 year old girls) stayed 3 nights as a break between our hot, busy days in Venice and Rome. What a good idea this was! Rustic, cool breezes and a lovely swimming pool. We laid beside the pool and read and waited for our 8 course dinner every night. Took us 2 hours to dine and... More

My family and I (five total) spent five nights at Malvarina in June. The grounds are quite lovely offering beautiful views of the Umbria countryside. Our hosts prepared an impromptu luncheon for us when we arrived jet-lagged from the States, which we greatly appreciated. Although the entire staff does not speak English, they are all quite friendly and willing to... More

My husband and I stayed for three nights at the family run Malvarina agriturisimo on a five week trip through Italy in 1998. We found Malvarina and its owners, Claudio and his mother Maria, to be so delightful that we have been recommending it to our friends for the past 14 years. Every person that we have sent to Malvarina... More

Our three-day and night stay at Malvarina was a completely satisfying experience. Accommodations were comfortable and clean; staff were helpful and considerate. Prices were most reasonable. Food and wine were divine and served family style. The only negative, for us Americans, was the dinner hour beginning at 8:30 p.m., but we quickly adjusted because the food and camaraderie were fantastic.... More

We stayed for 2 nights in early September. Found this agriturismo through Karen Brown's book. Claudio greeted us as we drove up. He's very friendly and despite his protests otherwise, his English is quite good. Room basic but very clean. I was concerned there was no air conditioning, but portable fan was quite sufficient to allow for good night's sleep.... More

My husband and I stayed at Malvarina for 3 nights in May. The staffs were really friendly. Most of them were not able to speak English but it didn't bother me because they were always willing to help and they tried to understand me. The dinner was very, very nice and I can't quite agree with the reviews that are... More
