Fantastic hotel with great prices! The bathroom was amazing and our room was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and had air conditioning. It's very close to all the attractions in Assisi. The hotel staff is very helpful and recommended a fabulous restaurant for us to try for dinner. The included breakfast was pretty average, but everything was good. Highly recommend.

We only stayed one night as part of a 3 week tour of Italy but have fond memories of this lovely little hotel. Room are simple but very comfortable. Bathroom has a wet room principle which resulted in us flooding the bathroom but not a problem really. The hotel excelled at breakfast - real ham off the bone, local cheeses,... More

We spent one night at this location and wish we had allotted more time. The rooms were very modern, well planned out, and the bathrooms - beautiful. The breakfast was one of the more extensive offered in our Italian experiences - even hard boiled eggs. The hotel is located in easy walking distance to town. We didn't need the free... More

My wife and I used Assisi as a base of operations for a four night trip to Umbria this spring, and couldn't have been happier with our choice of Porta Nuova. Located immediately outside one of the main gates into Assisi, all of the sites of the town are accessible within a 30 minute walk. We had a room overlooking... More

An excellent location for a visit to Assisi. We picked it for the car park and the rest of the hotel was just as convenient. It appears to have had a recent major upgrade and our room was large, light and comfortable. We were there in November so it was not full. I've read the reviews that said it was... More

A great stay just outside the Roman gate of the city. Convenient to the city, as well as Umbria. Small, quaint, and a pleasure. Service and accommodations were exceptional, at a very reasonable price. We will be back on our next trip to a magnificent city and country.

We spent 1 night in this hotel with classic B&B formula. Hotel is located in good position next to Porta Nuova medioeval gate in the South entrance of Assisi center. Main feature of this hotel is its position and good car parking. You can easy leave your car and enjoy a good walk inside the center. Hotel has two type... More

We stayed at Hotel Porta Nuova for three nights and have to report that it was a disappointment. We'd have to humbly disagree with its favorable online reviews. We booked a valley view room and found that it mostly overlooked the very busy traffic route that nearly encircles the hotel. There is constant- and significant- traffic noise, which meant the... Hotel Porta Nuova is a wonderful hotel in great location near the south gate to the city with free parking for your car. Easy walking to nearly all the sights except Rocca Maggiore which is the fort at the top of the city. It is an uphill climb to the fort which has great views of the valley. Basilica S.... More

Just spent a weekend in beautiful iAssisi including three nights in this wonderful little property. The rooms are small, comfortable, and up-to-date. Parking is in front of hotel and they lock the gate at midnight for security. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Assisi. The staff is very helpful. Breakfast is European (no bacon, omlets or potatoes) although... More
