Now, in Italy, this is where tourists should stay, a place in keeping with the 'feel" of the Italian countryside and Assisi, in particular. This was a pleasant stay with our tour group of about 40, mostly Australians, and I'm certain we were pretty happy with the place. Everything in our room worked and the heating was great, as we... So disappointed with this hotel.Stunning location but it so needs a major injection of money and .love to bring it back to its former glory Our first room must have been updated in the 60s and consequently was bleak, we moved to a room that did have some character with a bleak bathroom. There was one girl on reception who had... This is a great hotel with a very welcoming staff. Probably the best location in Assisi, right next to the church of st.Francis. The view from the terrace is stunning, especially at sunsite! This is a historic hotel so don't expect ultra modern. Princes and princesses have stayed here! More

We stayed at this hotel on the Best of Italy Globus 11 day tour in mid Sep 2011. Remember when you are out of your normal surroundings things are different. They will not be the same as you are use to. Take it with a grain of salt and make the best of it. Hotels and food are not what... More

We stayed here last week in two rooms and had a wonderful time. Drinks at sunset on the lovely balcony, great views from our nice room with tasteful furnishing and nice bathroom. No complaints at all. Good, quiet night's sleep, breakfast was fine. More

The hotel is located in a lovely position overlooking the courtyard and Basilica of San Francesco . The hotel is typically italian with ornate furniture, The rooms are basic, but I would say you would stay there alone for the spectacular views. The rooms most with wooden window shutters, small TV, desk and chair, the air conditioning we had ran... More

Globus Tours used this hotel and it is close to St. Francis' Basilica. It has a great view of the valley and the outdoor dining area was lovely. The rooms were very small and most had minimal air conditioning--ours had a fan next to the bed. Beds were fairly hard. Luckily, we only stayed one evening. Complimentary breakfast was typical... We spent 13 days in Italy, and this was the worst! I have never been treated so rudly by anyone in guest service. I don't think they have figured out that if we are not there they don't have a job. Supervisors are just as bad. From food service to front desk. When we asked if the lounge was open... More

I was here with a group of 18—not a particularly large group. I was fortunate enough to be sharing a room so we had a room facing the valley and the view was stunning. The room otherwise was very shabby, had a lingering unpleasant odor (thank goodness for my travel candle) and very much in need of renovation. Peeling paint,... More
