Date of travel June 2011! I remember when I stayed there! It was my first trip internationally and I ended up in this well-located, family friendly hotel. Located in the main street of assisi you have access to good souvenir places along the street up and good restaurants with amazing food; the hotel itself has one restaurant where one can... More

The Hotel Fontebella exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were welcoming and treated us like old friends. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and the bath was updated and very clean. We looked out on to the valley below. The view was incredible. The location was convenient to all the treasures of Assisi. Great staff. Wonderful... More

Sadly I did not have a great room. The bathroom was very narrow causing quite difficult manoeuvres. I had very poor view but others had fab views. If you stay here don't settle for the first floor. Reception is on 3rd and there are some magnificent rooms on this floor. Breakfast was ok but the service was charmless.

This review is long overdue; I have tried before to put a review on this website, but was unable to do so. So, let's try again. What a beautiful, quaint hotel. The staff are courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and what an amazing view I had. Long windows in both the bedroom and bathroom, with shutters... More

Fontebella is a lovely hotel, with magnificent views of the valley and the mountains. Assisi is a wonderful place, very clean, great shops and fantastic restaurants. Our room was beautiful with all the amenities we could need. Within walking distance to all the sights. A definite keeper. Would definitely visit again.

Rooms were unique but the views lovely. Dining was the best we experienced in any hotel on our school choir trip. Shower was small but workable. Very much the size of the stall shower at home in the second bathroom. Staff were very helpful and the overall experience in Assisi was fantastic!

This boutique hotel has a lovely view and a very nice dining room. The rooms were better than average, and the bathroom was well appointed. I did notice a slight musky odor. Ask for a room with a view...

Fantastic position right in the centre of the old city. Friendly staff. However, the rooms were hit and miss on size - most in our party had a good room, but some of the bathrooms were very difficult to navigate (sit on the loo for instance wedged against the wall). Some had rooms which could have been cleaner. The food... More

The Fontebella is located just up the hill from the upper gate at the St Francis Basilica. It is a convenient location as most attractions are up the hill from the hotel, which means that you are coming down the hill to your hotel after a long day of sightseeing (read hill climbing). The hotel has a generous lobby for... More

Thankfully only had to stay in this hotel for two nights! This hotel is the Italien equivalent of Fawlty Towers. Rooms were musty, dusty and hadn't been cleaned in a while. I suffer from asthma and did not sleep for two nights. The owner was rude, unpleasant and made absolutely no effort to make us feel welcome. The hotel is... More
