I have traveled this area of Italy since 1990 and this place was just great. My family and I had traveled down from Munich, drive from hell.... ;-), and arrived at this remote hotel/apartment in the middle of paradise excited and relieved. The view of the ancient Umbrian mountains and villages is breath taking. We stayed in the small "Urlaubhaus",... More

My wife and I stayed a week at Villamena and only a very cold wind marred the holiday. Villamena is set in a lovely location a short drive from Assisi (a car is a must have here). Private grounds including a lovely swimming pool which we didn't use because of the weather. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped.... More

We found this 'gem' of a place Years ago and next Monday 24th June we'll be going back again for the Seventh time. It's everything the wife and I need for a relaxing break and to get away from the everyday rushing about that life seems to be nowadays. It's always clean there is always a friendly welcome and thanks... More

We (2 couples) traveled to Assisi, Italy and stayed 10 days at Villamena we rented one of Raffaella's appartments. If you want a quiet place in the mountains with beautiful views and close to Assisi (4 miles from the town) it is a wonderful place to go. The appartment we stayed in has two bedrooms two baths and a balcony... More

We flew to Rome, then drove up to Assisi, the directions we were given were clear, and we arrived a little exhausted but without any problem. The room we had was very nice, and had everything we needed. It was particularly hot during the week we stayed ( 38-42 degrees) and, being an old building, we didnt have air conditioning,... More

Fantastic mixture of unspoilt surroundings, stunning scenery, friendly owners and an ideal base for visiting some of Umbria's fantastic countryside. Villamena offers all of the conveniences of a modern hotel but has the charm of a countryside retreat. Raffaella and her parents are very welcoming and a great deal of thought has gone into that finer details that make a... More

Villamena is surrounded in mountainous beauty, with all the luxuries a family would want. We swam in a clean pool (picina), played tennis, and all the while felt like we had a family who cared for us. Raphaella helped us plan many wonderful day trips in the area, including Perugia, small towns nearby, and hiking trails, too. This is a... More
