having revisited siena for the first time in 30 yr I was impressed with the absence of traffic and the refurbishing of the historic center. Siena is firenze's smaller sister but with equivalent beauty and fewer 'tourists. The chiostro adds to that charm. We were in room 19 overlooking the walls. Drummers and flag bearers below practiced for the upcoming... More

Room and bathroom was spacious clean and in a good decorative order. Staff helpful and breakfast was good for Italy. Hotel has a lot of character being a former monastery and rooms quiet. 5 min walk to key city sites.

We stayed in Il Chiostro Carmine for 1 night in May 2015, after having read mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. The main reason was that we found an acceptable rate (116 euros) for a stay in a medieval monastery - when do those of us who live n the US get to do that? The room was basic, as you'd expect... This is a restored monastery - so is very charming and pretty. I asked for a room with a view and I got one. Just lovely. The breakfast is simple but good and the coffee is hot. The bathroom in my room was also modern - the staff are nice. It isn't a 4-star hotel in my opinion overall but... More

Dear Roberta, Thank you for dedicating us a minute of your time by writing this review. We are pleased to read you and your friend appreciated the charm of the ex monastery and the room with the view we assigned you. We are also very glad breakfast and the welcoming have met your expectations. We are less pleased to read... More

We stayed there for 2 nights, 7 and 8 of April 2015. The hotel, a refurbished monastery, its excellent in terms of location, facilities, service and breakfast. Being an old building it has no lift. The only thing that spoiled our vacation was the fact that we were not informed about the rules covering the entrance in the old city... More

I really enjoyed my stay in this great medieval hotel. As I heard it used to be a monastery few centuries ago and you can still get this feeling in nowdays. The room itself is simple but has quite everything you might need. Our room had a small balcony which worked out great for us - smokers. The location is... More

The wi fi might not be very good, but the location was brilliant and the staff very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again if we were to visit Sienna again. The restaurants are all within walking distance and access to car parking is very useful.

We recently traveled to Italy. Siena was one of our favorites. The Il Chiostro del Carmine is a lovely place to stay. The staff was wonderful and would do anything to accomodate you. The rooms were comfortable, clean with large bathrooms. The view from some of the rooms is amazing. I would highly recommend it.

My son and I stayed here for 5 nights and had a restful wonderful experience. We had a lovely room with amazing views of the Tuscan countryside, we could not fault it. The facilities at the hotel were good. The staff made you feel extremely welcome and at home, they could not have been more accommodating, in particular Olgeta and... More

We were booked into this hotel with a cycling trip. It is in an old Monastery and it is a beautiful building. We expected that the wi fi in the room would be terrible but even sitting in the wi fi hot spot service was sporadic. As mentioned in other reviews, if you are on the top floor, get ready... More
