Our room was beautiful. I believe we stayed in number 4. It was decorated with beautiful shades of lavender and light blue. It was small but perfectly maintained and the air conditioning was heavenly. The terrace is absolutely beautiful (as everyone says)! This is a small perfectly maintained boutique hotel that used to be a personal residence. We arrived by... More

A great position with a stunning view from the terrace. Well appointed and staff very helpful. I would have liked the ability to make a cup of tea after the staff have gone. There is an honesty bar available but not tea and coffee making.

This place is a must--a bit hard to find (but what isn't in Siena) and absolutely beautiful. The continental breakfast, the beautiful patio overlooking the city, the most incredible room ever (#5) and a honeymoon room from heaven. The staff helped with so much and they even got a last minute floral arrangement for us.

We stayed one night during our honeymoon trip. While we were totally blown away by the view from the terrace and the charming common room, and found the location very convenient, we stayed in Room 3 and found the room very dark and the decor style was not our cup of tea. For those who love vintage "feel" of hotel... More

I've travelled all over, and usually give a 4 ranking at best. The location, WONDERFUL; the room, LOVELY; the staff, INCREDIBLE! Getting there by train was a bit of a challenge, but finally found a taxi. The location is very nice, and the room exceeded expectations. The breakfast is nice, and the terrace has a lovely view. But the staff,... More

An absolutely beautiful hotel with an amazing panoramic view of Siena from the breakfast area. All staff are VERY friendly and helpful. Beds are very big, although the pillows are very squishy. Rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Great bathroom amenities. Breakfast was very gourmet - delicious! And real cheese, not the thin cuts of very mild provolone that are oft... More

I was welcomed by Carlo to this very beautiful and charming hotel in the middle of everything in Siena. Carlo made great recommendations on where to eat, as I wanted to go where the locals went. The room was one of the most beautiful rooms I stayed in Italy, with a perfect mix of old and new, antique furniture, bathroom... More

Carlo and Maria Louisa provide personal and friendly service in this quirky space with a terrace, an honor bar, and 24-hour access to fruit and candy and nuts and a lovely lounge. Our room was huge with a gorgeous view of he town with the Duomo at its center. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom with its products and... More

We stayed 4 nights and can't recommend the hotel highly enough. In addition to others' positive comments on this site, I'll add that we had left our camera in Bari and were headed to Venice. Maria Luisa arranged for courier service to get it from Bari to Venice, and even called our B&B hosts in Venice to follow up! We... More

Perfect location, beautiful view and tastefully decorated hotel. We also discovered that pizzeria downstairs offers great food at a very reasonable value and this is where all Italians go. The view from the hotel is stunning and it's an ideal place for honeymoon

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Campo Regio Relais is a historic hotel in a building called Bastone del Pappagallo (16th Century), located in one of the ancient buildings within the historical centre of Siena. It can be found on Via della Sapienza, one of the main streets of medieval Siena, hosting both the University of Siena and the Academy of the Intronati. Its distinction is that it opens up to one of the most breathtaking views of the city in which the windows and the terraces reflect the ambient surroundings. The central position of the Relais allows guests to easily reach the most important monuments of the city; the main square, Piazza del Campo, the Duomo, and the museums that house the masterpieces of Siennese art. Campo Regio Relais is also perfect as a base from which you can discover the medieval towns and villages that surround Siena. ... more   less
