After having a small adventure with the Italian rail system, we arrived late at Podere Il Pero and thought we had died and gone to heaven. Our host, Gianni, was extremely kind and kept the office open for us until our train arrived in Siena. We had just spent a few days in Rome and the quiet and serene setting... More

During our holiday in the Tuscan area in Italy we visited Sienna and stayed for several days at Gianni’s pension. It is a nice place within a short distance to the historical inner city. There is also a bus stop very close – just a few stops to the cathedral. Our room was very clean and the furniture is typical... More

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautifully renovated farmhouse. Everything was clean, accessible and Gianni was very friendly and helpful. We loved the pleasant garden and the view from our room. The beds were so comfortable and the shutters blocked the light so well that we slept right past breakfast. Gianni said he was glad his beds... More

This is a great find to stay in Siena without having to be right in the heart of the city. We had a car, so parking was key for us, and I'm so glad we stayed with Gianni. He's super friendly, accommodating and available. He gave us great suggestions for dining, helped us map out our visit to Siena, and... More

We spent 2 nights in Siena at this wonderful villa. Our host, Gianni, and his wonderful mother and father were very hospitable to my husband and I, and our two young girls. They made us feel right at home and Gianni was very patient with all of our questions. He helped us by making phone calls for us and providing... More

My husband and I stayed at Podere il Pero on our honeymoon - absolutely delighted - the gardens and rooms are just lovely (and immaculately clean), the hosts were wonderfully kind and the breakfast just amazing! Should we be so fortunate to go to Siena again we would not dream of staying anywhere else!

We chose this property because we had a car and did not want to stay within the city centre of Sienna. The location was great within walking distance to public transportation to the city centre of Sienna. Gianni has lovingly restored the property. Our room was spacious and clean and overlooked the orchard. We stayed there in October and had... More

I would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Siena. The B&B is within walking distance of the city (so it is a savings on taxis). Gianni is super helpful and it doesn't hurt that he's a cutie too. The room was a good size and the bathroom was too, and very clean. We loved it and... More

Fantastic room, incredible breakfast spread, and a lovely host. The location leaves a bit to be desired if you don't have a car, but with Gianni's help, we quickly worked out the local bus into town. We hope to come back one day, with a car, and use this as a home base to tour other nearby towns. We were... More

We traveled to four countries on our trip and stayed in many places, but Podere Il Pero was my favorite. It is just a one mile walk outside of Siena in the middle of Tuscany. We stayed four nights and part of the fun was meeting and talking with Gianni. He is much more than just an innkeeper - part... More
