Friendly staff (specially Gaia!), spacious lodge (even though the small bathroom) with kitchen apliances and parking facilities. You have to walk quite a bit (or use a taxi) to access the historical area of Siena, but it´s close to a good supermaket and to road junction to different tuscan paesi.

It took us a while to find the hotel but it was sure worth the effort. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room, though small, was great and as we only stayed a night it was more than adequate. A nearby restaurant was recommended and that was fantastic. We ate way too much but enjoyed every mouthful. Breakfast... More

This was our second stay at this hotel. The room was quiet and well kept. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The only negative was the clothes dryer. We wanted to wash some clothes before we left for Rome. We shouldn't have tried. The dryer just didn't work. We were unable to dry our clothes in the evening and... More

This hotel is in some ways rather quirky in that it lies beyond and above (up a hill) a large local supermarket that the locals call "The coop" (as in chicken coop - rather than Co .... Op). This quirky location will put some people off - indeed, I know some other reviewers don't like the location and say it... More

Stayed at this fantastic hotel for a week and really enjoyed the open space setting of the hotel with its generous landscaped gardens set on the side of a hill looks toward Siena old town. The walk to the town is uphill to the town for that matter is good for the fitness but the hearing of the church bells... More

We stayed at Borgo Grondai for one week, during a bit of a Tuscan tour this July. We booked direct with the hotel, and I got the impression they preferred this. All communication, right from the very first email, was prompt, and very reassuring. You can book direct with total confidence. We wondered if our Sat Nav would struggle to... More

We stayed here for 3 nights during our two week Italian vacation. It was by far our favorite place and we were sad we couldn't stay longer. The grounds are beautiful with peaceful gardens, olive trees, and a tranquil pool up on a hill which was an ideal backdrop to sharing a bottle of wine and viewing Siena in the... More

We loved this as a change of pace after the crowds in Florence. Wonderful welcome from a very helpful reception, great room, beautiful grounds and still walking distance to old town. Very close to train station too. Ten euro taxi from train station to find our way the first time then walking was fine. Ann and Dean, Australia

Stayed here for 4 nights and were really pleased with our choice of hotel, Lovely staff who went out of their way to be helpful, especially Gabriela and the waiter who remembered our choice of coffees at breakfast every morning. Beautiful grounds and lovely pool, fantastic breakfast, delightful room. Yes, it's a good walk (and not very scenic!) into Siena... More

We arrived late; saved our room for us...even delivered dinner through our French type kitchen window....we loved our retreat, and sad to see the day we leave...we took a day trip and went to Venice for one night, and really looked forward to coming home.. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, our own patio, 4 adults and very easy...huge... More
