One of the highlights of our recent trip to italy was to stay at this hotel. Beautiful location, fantastic staff and excellent food and wine. I'd certainly like to stay longer next time and use this excellent hotel as a base to explore Tuscany. We did have our own transport which given it's slight out of siena was good however... More

This was our favorite among the numerous hotels we stayed at during a lengthy holiday in several cities in France and Italy in 2013. The words that come to mind here are "serene", "quiet" and "charming". If you want to sit back and relax in Tuscany, this would not be a bad place to do it. Our room in the... More

This is a tough review because although I did not think the hotel was good, I don't know if there were better options at this price point. It was the least favorite hotel in this year's trip to Italy. Stayed 3 nights in the largest suite w 2 big room, 1 and half baths. Big room, at a big price... More

I read the reviews and saw the pictures before booking this villa but none of that prepared me for its stunning beauty and luxury. The room was huge and flooded with light when the shutters are open which are both rare when traveling in Italy. The staff was super nurturing and helpful and the breakfast was amazing and full of... Stayed in October 2014. This handsome villa with gardens, terrace, fire lit bar with large leather chairs and a view of trees and hills, and a spacious dining room overlooking the orchard and city is a delightful spot from which to visit Siena and enjoy its myriad architectural pleasures and outstanding restaurants. The staff offered excellent advice about best dining... More

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The location and gardens are stunning. You feel like a character in a Henry James novel. Elegant rooms, lovely lounges and quietly professional, attentive service. Some grand hotels are luxurious but don't feel relaxing and homely. This one delivered on both counts. English is spoken fluently on Reception and they... More

A great location. Very peaceful. Staff extremely helpful . We took the public bus into town and it was a great way to see the sights as well as very economical.. The locals are very friendly and helped us find different attractions ie the fort, good place for gelato etc.

My fiancé and I flew into Pisa and stayed here before driving onto Umbria. We arrived after midnight but the hotel staff were great and helped us to our room. The room was spacious and v comfortable. We were looking for somewhere with some history and character - and Villa Scacciapensieri has both in spades! It is not the most... More

We stayed for three nights as out base in Tuscany. Villa is well located and just a short drive or bus ride to town. It has large gardens, a pool and views across the countryside. It has old world charm with the restaurant operating as it probably did 50 years ago. A good place to stay with helpful staff.

Lovely grounds with very romantic sunsets. Bus right at door to take you to the town centre. Service and rooms really lovely. Rooms small but very clean and quaint. The older gentleman at reception is extremely helpful with ideas for where to go and what to do. Very nice man. Found the younger girl and the older lady at reception... More
