The hotel is well situated just a couple blocks from the bus stop at Piazza Gramsce toward the Campo. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with an excellent view. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good. From the hotel it was a short walk to the Campo - and the whole city is one fascinating medieval... more

Siena is difficult to find accommodation that doesn't have one or two things a little wonky if you are shooting for mid-range/3 star. Either the location is off, the service is off, or the amenities are off. That said, Cannon D'Oro has done a pretty darn good job of getting the things right that really matter - the front desk... more

I have just returned from a trip to Italy and stayed in Siena at this hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect, not too far from the train station (a short taxi journey - €10) and the main square 'Il Campo' (5 mins walk). We had what seemed to be a larger than normal room which was quiet nice... more

Had a nice one night stay at the hotel. It is perfectly located in the center of Siena, not far from all the major sights. The single room was very small though and the shower not so practical. But all was very clean. Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. more

Just returned from spending one night in Siena after 3 nights in Florence and before attending a conference in Milan (4 nights). This hotel was the most economical but was in a great location and just what we needed to explore Siena. The hotel is extremely basic, offers a simple but adequate breakfast and is centrally located. It was difficult... more

Room 15 was bare and minimal, but fine for a 2-day stay. We had a large window that opened to the building next door, but if you looked to the right, there was a beautiful view of the rooftops of Sienna and the Tuscan hills in the distance. I would not recommend this room is that it is near two... more

After spending hours reading reviews i went with this albergo. It is very central and gets booked up early. The room we had was fairly large, basic (no hairdryer or tea making facilities etc) but had a really good shower and is much better than other places i've stayed in italian cities! If you can try to get a room... more

I stayed at this place for 4 nights in mid-April. My room was room 5 on the first floor. Single room rate - 50 euros incl breakfast. The room was small and characterless. Actually, funny enough the bathroom was bigger in size than the living area which is quite rare for Italian hotels. the main flaw of the room was... more

We loved how spacious and bright the room was that we stayed in! The windows opened to a pleasant view and it was not too loud at all. I did have a problem with the drain in the shower...a bit of a flood occurred. But I think it was just me because my two girlfriends didn't have any issues:) The... more

We stayed at Canon d'Oro for 3 nights, and were glad we booked there for our stay in Siena. Like a couple of other reviewers, I think we had the best room (#37), last room on the top floor (second). The room was spacious. It had two twins together, and a third twin which we used for luggage. The room... more
