This small hotel has great possibilities, being in an excellent position near San Domenico with lovely views towards the Duomo but is requires some improvement in facilities. My room was clean but the ensuite bathroom was tiny, very basic and a little smelly. Many of the rooms have to share bathroom and toilet facilities. If the weather is poor apart... More

This is a very small hotel, really a guesthouse, with a quiet and home-like atmosphere. I stayed here with my Mother on an especially slow week when there were only 2 other guests. The Albergo is run by a family but Carlotta, one of the daughters, was running the place by herself while we were there. She was incredibly friendly... More

I stayed just one night in Siena, and chose Albergo Bernini based on a Rick Steves recommendation. The room was clean but a little worn, and faced the side street right over Osteria la Ciacchera, which could possibly be noisy during the busier summer months (though I thought it was convenient since I ate there twice: it was really good).... My husband and I had a great time at Albergo Bernini. The staff is friendly and helpful and breakfast is fantastic on the terrace. The Bernini breakfast is a lot of food... the less expensive breakfast will be plenty for most travelers. All together it was a clean, comfortable stay and we would go back anytime. Siena is fabulous!

Whilst touring through Italy, my partner and I spent three nights in Siena at Albergo Bernini and we cant wait to go back! The room was basic, clean, comfortable and well-furnished. The hotel offers rooms with and without bathrooms. Our particular room was without en-suite but the shared bathroom was clean and spacey. The breakfast was lovely and the views... More

We were fortunate to stay at the Albergo Bernini for 2 nights in late January, 2010. The owners are very friendly, attentive , and caring. The location is central, we easily took a local bus from the train station and only walked about 2 blocks to the door. The room we had, No. 8, has a delightful view and was... More

We would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our window was directly over a side street and a recommended restaurant (Osteria la Ciacchera: Costa di San Antonio 4, "peasant food at (relatively) peasant prices"). Street noise was not a problem. Very friendly and helpful clerk at checkin. A long block or two inside the pedestrian... More

You’ve been warned about the bells. They didn’t bother us too much as our room did not face the church. In fact, they were a great alarm clock for us to get up and start our day! Bernini’s a short walk down from the bus station (buses to the train station and Florence). It’s also a short walk downhill to... More

I am amazed at these other reviews - we must have gotten the worst room. We walked in and nearly fell over from the Mildew smell emanating from the bathroom. There was plaster falling from the ceiling (directly above the pillow on the bed), the bed squeaked loudly every time you moved, and there was barely any heat. The smell... More

Our group of four couples spent 4 nights here after being in beautiful Vernazza in CT. It was the perfect base for our bike trip in Chianti, our day trip to Florence, and getting to know the beautiful city of Siena. Carlotta and Ilaria were always available to answer questions and help out. Their breakfast was basic, but very good.... More
