Rick Steve's Italy 2008 travel book pointed us to this hotel and we were glad to have stayed. The Euro's strength gave us little choice but to think cheap, so we booked a room with the bathroom down the hall & paid 62 Euros a night. The location of the hotel is exceptional -- you are in the middle of... more

We had a nice stay at Albergo Bernini -- it is definitely a budget place, but if you're trying to do things cheap it's just fine. The owners are nice, but don't speak much english. The best part is definitely the rooftop terrace. Beautiful views! A few times we bought sandwiches or stuff for lunch and ate on the terrace.... more

On a whirlwind tour of Italy for our honeymoon, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we fell in love with the town of Sienna. I booked it on line and the hotel was what we expected. Older but clean, nice location, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Our room had a two great big windows that we left open to let... more

We stayed at Albergo Bernini for 2 nights, and we would probably shop around a little more and spring for more money next time. To be honest, we didn't really shop around in Siena, so can't speak to the "average" hotel there The good: 1) location (but Siena's small) 2) friendly and helpful staff 3) excellent view from the patio... more

We stayed in one of their apartments, recommended by Rick Steves. Good stay. Very friendly staff. Owner (whose name escapes me) sat us down and played his accordian for us. A treat. And convenient location...just keep in mind you cannot drive directly to it; it's within the restricted area. more

We booked directly with Albergo Bernini based on recommendations by Rick Steves. I don't know why the previous reviews are below average. We had a great stay there, and the owners were nothing but nice to us. You have to remember that anywhere in Italy and Europe, hotel rooms are going to be small and not very luxurious. It is... more

We reviewed Rick Steve's and selected Albergo Bernini, great view, good location to walk from. After reading Rick Steve's review we were excited to have some friendly interaction with the owners but it was anything but... it almost seemed if we were imposing on him by renting our rooms. There were 5 in our family so we had two rooms.... more

We stayed at the Albergo Bernini for 2 nights on a 7 night Italian fly/drive for 85 Euros with no breakfast—outrageous once we saw the room (#2). Although it was clean and large, it was painted sour apple green; the bed reflected the hills and valleys of Tuscany (my husband took the day bed the second night). The only amenity... more

Albergo Bernini was everything we had hoped for and more! My mom, sister, and I learned about this hotel from Rick Steve's guidebooks and PBS program. As usual, Rick did not let us down. Our three person room was extremely spacious, very clean, charming, reasonably priced, and the view of Old Siena and the Duomo was spectacular. Our host, Mauro,... more

This was a great location, but the rooms were too small. While coming and going (between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.), we had a sense that we were invading the owner's home. The staff wasn't partciularly friendly, and my mom saw a bug or two in the bathroom. On the plus side, it was very convenient , quiet, and had... more
