Of the 3 hotels we stayed in Italy, this was the most disappointing. The location isnt close to anything. Both day and night staff at the front desk was rude and not helpful, and our room was uncomfortable and noisy. more

We stayed in Siena for only one night on our way from Tuscany to Rome. If you can maneuver your way around the walled city - which is a challenge in itself! - and find your way to this adorable family run hotel, you won't be disappointed. We stayed in a double room at Santa Caterina for two nights in February 2008. It was reasonably priced at 85 euros a night, which included breakfast. We didn't need parking, but it's available for 15 euros per night. The staff were always friendly and polite, and breakfast was good (a few cereal choices, cakes, various pastries, yoghurt, cheese etc).... more
