Located a couple of miles out of the old city walls in hilly terrain, a cab (€12 each way) is needed to visit Siena's sights and restaurants. Booking a Mercure hotel is a safe but uninspiring choice - we booked it since it had free on-site car parking. The rooms were large, and good value, if lacking any hint of... More

Mercure hotels are generally known as good quality three-star establishments, places where you always know you'll get a clean and comfortable room. The Mercure Siena meets that criteria, and goes a bit beyond. The room was just what we expected: simple clean and quiet, with a bathroom including a full range of amenities and plenty of towels. The staff was... More

This was a surprisingly good hotel. Mercure hotels are usually 3 stars, but this one was 4 stars. All amenities were there and the sleep was comfortable for all the family. Need a taxi to go to the city center but it is not too far. Recommended for those who go to Siena.

we ( a couple with 13~year old daughter from Beijing) arrived in Siena in late afternoon of 24 July, very tired, after driving 5 hours from Roma via the SS2 countryside road, misguided by a wrong setting of a new GPS ( A1 road is a better choice) the 3 beds room is large and good looking, making us totally... Hotel is fair. Location is far from town so plan on transportation to city. Siena is a beautiful town but getting around in car is difficult. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Breakfast is included in price and was good

On a tour, we didn't choose this and wouldn't recommend it. No AC which is apparently typical for this area early in the season, regardless of temperature. Hard TWIN beds and no working Wi-Fi. Topping it off was a very poor breakfast. Consider looking elsewhere if given a choice.

Terrible experience! Had items of clothing hidden underneath dressers and also had a diamond necklace that was hidden in a suitcase stolen! Items that had not even been taking out of the suitcase were hidden under the bed also. Hotel staff was unfriendly, rooms were hot, and wifi did not ever work!
