Mercure Siena Degli Ulivi We stayed 2 nights at this recently refurbished hotel and loved every minute of our stay. We had chosen a hotel on the outskirts of Siena on purpose so that there would be no problem with car parking and there is a huge free car park. Reception was welcoming. There was no porter so we found... more

We are not fussy people and we fully expected this part of our trip to be more budget but what we got was rubbish.... Hotel staff are rude and unhelpfull, Hotel is miles from anything other than the hospital. At breakfast staff were struggling with dirty tables and little food out whilst several managers thought mucking in and helping keep... more

Missed our reservation at the local B&B because of travel delays. Arrived at the Mercure at 1am with no reservation. I do not speak Italian. As you can imagine, I was a desperate man. The desk clerk spoke great English, checked my wife and me in for a night without even asking for a credit card. We ended up staying... more

The Degli Ulivi is a four star hotel on the outskirts of Siena. On the positive and practical side, the room was spacious, spotlessly clean, the double bed was a real double bed and very comfortable (not two single beds held together with elastic and large sheet). There was a large TV, comfy sofa, minibar of Catholic proportions and the... more

This hotel suffers from the fact that the Hotel Manager acts like he is The Pope! From he's position on the back of the front desk, he controls everything! From the very beginning, the checkin went wrong. We arrived with our 2 kids, and we have booked the hotel for 4 nights. First they could not find our reservation ,... more

We arrived at the hotel to find Carabineri everywhere, and crowds behind barricades lining the entrance. It turned out that Juventus were staying in the hotel and were about to leave to play Siena (they lost). On the plus side, the hotel is good enough for £100,000 a week footballers, on the down side, our colleagues who had arrived earlier... more

We took nearly an hour to find this hotel, we thought it was at the edge of within the city walls, however it wasn't. The hotel was located about a 15minute bus drive away from the centre near to the hospital. The bus was around 1E, ran about every 15mins and took you to the main bus station in Siena.... more

Stayed for three nights as part of a wine tour of Italy and France. Hotel is beautifully appointed but it was very quiet, even with our group of 28 until another group arrived. This gave difficulty for the hotel in trying to judge staffing levels. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, tthe public areas spacious and well fitted. The... more

This was one of four hotels we stayed at on our honeymoon. I'm not sure how the hotel rating system works but this claims to be a four-star and it compared poorly to a two-star we stayed at in Florence. The most memorable feature was the poor cleaning of the rooms. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon and the... more

We stayed 2 nights during the Palio. The hotel staff was superb and courteous despite this festive event. Breakfast was incredible. Our room was very neat and clean. The only draw back is the location. If you have a car, this hotel is a good choice for the value and price for a 4 stars hotel. The taxi ride is... more
