This is the third time that I have stayed at The Certosa. I like the hotel because of its location minutes away from the gates of Sienna. It gives you a Tuscan country feel while being minutes away from the sights and sound of one of Tuccanys great cities. That said I have a few issues. I raised the issue of... More

Dear Sir, thank you for the time you dedicated to write your review. You say "the management will rebut what I have to say" but....why ? There is no reason to rebut if the complain is constructive. Unfortunately for me is impossible to understand who you are. We never had only 5 rooms occupied in the month of June. Your... More

our trip to Tuscany didn't get off to the best start. We missed our Ryanair flight so had to fly the following day at an extortionate price. Added to this, car rental company once informed we would be arriving a day later, said they considered it a "no show" and cancelled the car altogether. Thus far we have not had... More

Disappointed from Certosa Di Maggiano, although my expectations were high. A truly wonderful old monastery with beautiful dining rooms. However, it gives the impression of being literally abandoned. Rooms with heavy and old furniture, prove some past glory, but these days are clearly over. Expensive at the same time. Definitely needs and DESERVES a good fresh touch. Change management for... We were in heaven in this former monastery, and felt like we were in our own private villa. The service was beyond excellent. The location right outside the walls of Siena made it very easy to arrive and depart by car. If you ever want to feel like you own a villa, stay here.

We just returned from attending the Palio in Siena and our stay at Certosa di Maggiano helped make the experience wonderful. The hotel itself is very nice with near luxury accomodations. The breakfast was quite good and served by a delightufl young lady in a wonderful outdoor setting. The highlight of the hotel for us was the service provided by... More

Me and my husband stayed at Certosa for our honeymoon and it was a marvelous stay. The staff was very very pleasant and always willing to make our stay the best ever. The food at Il Canto is also amazing. If you go, you have to try the ravioli. DO NOT skip the breakfast. Everything is made at the hotel,... More

We have just spent the last 4 days at the extraordinary hotel of Certosa di Maggiano which was both charming and delightful. Our bedroom was large and breezy and there are many rooms downstairs which are beautifully furnished in the style of an old country home. In addition there is a chapel adjoining the hotel which is actively used every... More

Certosa di Maggiano is set in an old monastery on a hillside about a 20 minute walk from the historic old town of Siena (or a seven minute cab ride). It is a beautiful establishment wjth numerous public rooms which don't seem to have focus. There are no lifts and most of the bedrooms seem to be upstairs.
