Stayed for 3 nights but should have stayed longer. Mario and Elisabetta were amazing hosts. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms were incredible. The venue which includes a beautiful infitini pool. It is a short drive to Siena. The location was so serene and peaceful, that we stayed in 2 of the 3 nights and ate on the terrace watching the... More

- Mario & Elisabetta are wonderful hosts! The property has been beautifully & sympathetically restored & is so handy for sightseeing. We asked Mario if it was possible to see both Montalcino & Montepulciano in the same day, & he promptly produced a laminated map with the route on one side & the directions on the reverse, which he copied... We stayed at the Aia Mottanata Relais for 4 out of the 12 nights we were in Italy, but I wish we stayed for all 12. It was the most relaxing part of our stay. Siena is a beautiful city and the surrounding area offers plenty to keep you busy during the day. Mario and Elizabetta were the most wonderful... More

My favourite hotel of all time!! It was such a relief to get away from the busy streets in Siena city centre and discover that our choice of hotel was simply perfection! Upon arrival I am sure that you will know (the minute you see the property) that this place is really special. In advance I apologize for my lack... More

We stayed with Aia Mattonata Relais for two nights but wish it was for more, it was the highlight of our 4 weeks trip thru Italy and France. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with a cosy welcoming kitchen and lounge. Not to mention the pool and gardens which are just stunning. Mario has the hosting down to the tee and... More

My wife and I are in our 70s and we've been traveling for almost 50 years and this is the best hotel/b&b we've ever stayed at. I won't repeat all the good things others have had to say (they're all true) but I want to tell you about what Mario did for us. I had contacted him by e-mail to... More

We booked our stay based on the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and it did not disappoint. Our only regret was not staying longer. This was easily the best place we stayed at in Italy and happened to be the least expensive. Our spacious room was very nicely furnished, the bed was quite comfortable, and the bathroom was large with clean... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. One of the highlights of our trip. I wish we could have had more time there. The property was beautiful and well taken care of. Mario and Elizabeth took very good care of us. They were very helpful with travel plans for exploring the wine country. Having a car is helpful.

My husband and I travelled through Italy for a month and staying at this hidden gem was a real highlight. Room was very clean and spacious. We had a gorgeous view of Siena out our window. There are plenty of comfy chairs and tables outside within a beautiful garden where you can sit back with a Vino and watch the... More

Staying at Aia Mattonata was the highlight of our families 3 week trip to Italy this summer! The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, well set up and had without question had the best bathroom of the trip. The grounds which are meticulously kept include a pool with loungers, a patio to eat breakfast at each morning and plenty of comfortable... More
