We first discovered LVM in 2004, while on a two week stay in SG with six friends. After our first meal there, everyone knew that a return was a must. We ate there at least twice each week, and ten years later, those friends still speak fondly of Alighieri, Claudio, and Roberto and the wonderful dining atmosphere and delicious meals... More

I wish I had written this review sooner so I could include a description of each part of the meal. The appetizers were excellent as were the entrees and desserts. Then there is the view, breathtaking! I've been to restaurants where you get either good food or a great view, this has both. I would highly recommend a reservation, if... More

Serves dinner only, no lunch. If you don't have a reservation then arrive at opening as it filled up fast. We had a big lunch so did not want a heavy dinner and they gave us great service anyway. It was the perfect end to a two week vacation watching the sunset over the Tuscan hills. It is off the... More

Been here for the second time. Seriously good Italian food and cheap as hell (for my standards)! Magnificent teracce with a panorama view. Service is in my opinion the worst. Well it is not really worse, they only don't seem to try and make you feel comfortable or being as polite as i'm used of some other italian waiters/waitesses. But... More

I made a reservation for this restaurant a week in advance via email. Im very glad I did, the restaurant was almost full when we arrived and numerous tourists had to be sent away. The view is amazing - breathtaking. We also really enjoyed the food! It took a while to order and to receive the food but this gave... More

The patio dining was breathtaking and the food was very good. We would definitely go again. We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the valley and the town as it settles into the evening. Lovely town, friendly people, the essence of Tuscany.

Stayed here one night. A very pleasant room. We didn't have a view, and it got pretty hot at night. As other reviewers have said, book early if you definitely want to eat here and sit on the terrace. It was already booked up for 7.00pm when we arrived about 5.00. We ate there anyway at 9.00, which meant we... More

This restaurant is located on a side ally of San Gimignano with an expansive view of the surrounding valley. Make a reservation for the terrace on a nice evening or the inside is an attractive stone building. The food is a range of Tuscan style including local game - boar, rabbit and deer. However, tamer fare is available as well.

Not really - we booked the room and the restaurant at the same time as we'd heard from some friends that Sam Gimignano was at its best at night, when the day trippers have gone home - and the advice was spot on. The room was absolutely fine - quite basic but it was only 65 Euros so absolutely fine... More

To dine here was considered a special treat for us so we booked in advance for the terrace and got it. That was worth it. The view is magnificent - sorry, it was really too dark for my iphone camera by the time I thought to take it out. We had one of those delightful reare occasions where between five... More
