If you want to sleep inside the walls of the old town you don`t have many choices and this is one of the best you have. You pay the location not the service. Bathroom is old but not dirty. Thank you very much for your review and mentioning the basement which was opened to public in 2003. We set an exposition area on the left side of basement for all visitors to show relics of medieval pottery found during the renovation works which were given to the museum for registration.We really hope to be given them back as soon...
Did we stay in the same hotel as the other reviewers on here? First the pluses...the location inside the walls of San Gimignano which is a great spot to explore (particularly when the mass of tour buses has left). Room was large. Arriving would have been a bit of a challenge since you have to back down a one way street after you've actually made your way within the city walls, but the picture by picture "map" that the hotel made available on-line actually made it a snap, even without the assistance of good old "garmin" our sometimes savvy navigator.
