If you are looking to escape to a quiet place in the Tuscan hillside with postcard views of the towers of San Gimignano than look no further than Podere Montese. A short drive from the historic town center, PM is the perfect contrast to the hectic pace of the tourist centers found throughout Tuscany. Davide and Analisa were wonderful hosts... More

When we arrived to Podere Montese, the sun was setting behind us and lighting up the towers of San Giminano. Once we got settled into the apartment, my husband turned to me and asked if I was certain that I'd gotten the rate right, because it didn't seem enough for such a great location and accommodation. The hosts were hands... More

Davide and analisa are both excellent hosts, that run a peaceful b&b up on a hill nearby san gimignano. Rooms are large and quiet, breakfast buffet well filled and the cappucino very creamy indeed. Good location to discover tuscany with a romantic view (certainly in the evenings) on the towers and the lights of the city. However train connections to... More

We stayed at Podere Montese in mid October. Unlike other previous travellers we experienced wonderful hospitality from Davide and Annalisa. The benefit was most likely that we visited in the low season of the year and that there were very few other visitors. The rooms were spotlessly clean and bathrooms were modern, the property has been renovated recently. The rooms... More

We stayed here for 4 nights while traveling through Italy and thoroughly loved it. Davide and his wife were excellent hosts, The property was gorgeous and spotlessly clean. The closeness to San Gimignano was great, but it was far enough away to have peace and quiet. Highly recommend this palace and we will be going back.

Service: - pro: good and rich breakfast - cons: not really a traditional Italian hospitality, a bit cold and burned out hosts, wifi out of order Sleep Quality: - pro: good and comfortable beds - cons: noisy guests (drunk and young couple arriving at 3PM, noisy Italian lady starting loudly at 7PM), mosquitoes Cleanliness: - pro: room cleaned every day... What can I say that hasn't already been said. When I started looking for accommodation in rural Tuscany with a pool, easy access by public transport and close enough to a nice town to walk to and fro, I couldn't find much. You'll have to drive, everyone said. Luckily, I stumbled across this place! Stayed here for 5 nights. Davide... More

We stayed here for 5 nights. We were able to walk from Montese to San Gimignano which we did in 30 minutes along the strada Bianca at a brisk walking pace- perfect for us in early May without the heat of summer. The location was peaceful with a fantastic view of the town. Annalisa and Davide were friendly, helpful and... More

Podere Montese is located in scenic, rolling hills outside of San Gimignano. The hosts, Davide and Annalisa, are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Our visit was in late March, so it was nice to see the area very green and in flower. Breakfast each morning was coffee, bread, cheeses, meats, juice, and cereals. Pretty good. If anything, I would say... More

This hotel is so charming. The hotel is a shot distance outside of the town center of San Gimignano, but that's one of the things that makes it perfect. From the hotel pool and grounds, you will get a view of the town's beautiful and ancient skyline. Amazing! The rooms are beautiful and comfy with fantastic views of the rolling... More
