This little hotel has a great position right next to the leaning tower. We had a view from the bedroom window that you would pay a fortune for. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms a little small but we only slept there as there was too much to get out and see. We added breakfast which was sufficient and... More

OK I'm cheating on the date because they don't go back that far. My wife and mine first trip to Europe in 1996 (March/April) we went through Pisa and without a place to stay. We were in our mid thirties. We happen to notice the hotel and had seen it on a travel show on TV, it was late afternoon... More

I'm sure the only reason this place is still in business is it's location. You are about 20 steps away from the leaning tower of pisa which is fantastic! We only stayed here 1night (thank god) so it wasn't so bad as we didn't arrive until 1pm and we stayed out until 11pm and left for our train at 6am... More

If it was possible to rate this hotel on location alone it would receive 5 stars, it's located just opposite the Leaning Tower, however there are a few points that let it down badly. The room is very badly dated with a bed that creaks more than a broken gate in a gale. The shower didn't have a curtain so... More

Stayed in this hotel two years ago and it seemed adequate considering its location especially as it was close to some friends living in Pisa. It was a lot worse this time with staff hardly acknowledging us as we arrived. We opted for room only this time (breakfast was pretty basic last time!) Price was cheap for three night but... More

Three adults on a four night stay in October 2014 - 1 double room & 1 single room. PROS Location. The closest hotel to the Leaning Tower in Pisa, a one minute walk away! Both rooms had air conditioning units which we appreciated because the weather was very warm - even though it was October. CONS The furniture in the... More

Terrible hotel, give it a miss. Reception staff are not happy in their work. Room cleaners were great in very trying circumstances. Shower cubicle was tiny, bed rattled, very noisy from early morning. Great location for centre of town and tower, perhaps that is why they don't care. No A/C which made even October unbearable at night. Didn't have breakfast... More

On our recent stay at the Hotel Ariston, we were booked in during the mid afternoon by a very unwelcoming, moody young man at reception who gave the impression that he could not be bothered to be sociable. Our allocated room was on the 2nd floor, up two flights of stairs. There is no lift and the stairs were a... More

There are only two positive things I can say about this hotel, that is the location is good and it has free wifi. I stayed in a single room barely larger than the bed, at first I thought there must be a shared bathroom in the corridor until I opened a cupboard to find an ancient bathroom inside. As soon... The hotel was dirty. The carpet was literally white with dust and dirt. The next day before we left I noticed that their cleaning ladies were merely shaking them and not vacuuming. There's no wifi in the bedrooms, which were expected but still disappointing. The toiletries were little packets of shampoo and soap (like ketchup packets). The AC in our... More
