This hotel is located outside Pisa which is what we wanted as we wanted to pop into Pisa for a few hours but we were not bothered to stay in the city itself. The hotel has a grand entrance (which is difficult to find) and the rooms are small but clean. The area surrounding the hotel is very pretty with... more

Beautiful villa in Tuscany .An Aside main road but the place is isolated from traffic and noise. Very quiet and relaxing place to romantic holiday. Roomy and well equipped room. Indulgent stuff. You must have a car go to anywhere. more

How do you rate a hotel is the question? Stars are fa airly meaningless guide. To my wife and I the facilities are important, but if something is not correct then the attitude of the staff is critical. Location and ambiance is also a highly rated factor. The Calamidoro has all these factors. It is favorably situated 6km North of... more

My husband and I visited this hotel in early September 2007 from Thursday through to Monday. We found the room, food, bar, breakfast, staff and surroundings to be absolutely top notch. The staff are extremely friendly, the food in the main restaurant is superb and the room is extremely well equipped and spacious (although watch the television if you have... more

Got a good discount on Expedia and as a result I was very happy with the place. It is a wonderful place to stay, sleep, relax, etc. The restaurant is superb and popular with locals too (which has to be a good sign here). But, if you don't have a car it is very, very inconvinient and you will need... more

We booked this hotel with Expedia as it looked really nice and had a good description. The location isn't very good as you need a car to go anywhere, it is on a main road which has no paths! So every time you venture out of the hotel, you take your life into your own hands! The hotel is set... more

We stayed at this hotel for two days in late May 06. We took the train from Florence and the Pontedera stop was one stop before the Pisa stop. Easy enough to get to although we did almost get arrested on the train. If you are traveling on a rail pass, please remember to write in the date you are... more

The hotel at first site looks like part of a shopping mall and the location seems a bit odd. However once we checked in at reception we were taken through a big gate and past a lovely lake to our accomodation. We were lucky enough to be given a room in the small complex right at the back of the... more

Very comfortable hotel. Beautiful location with a backdrop of mountains including Mont Sera (although not what I'd call a hamlet location, as described). 1 minute walk to a small shopping complex and two reasonable restaurants. About 30 minutes drive from Pisa airport. The hotel outdoor swimming pool was very clean. There is an olympic sized pool at the complex -... more
