This is not your most modern and up-to-date hotel but that's what makes it great! It's an old building with wide marble staircases and twenty-foot ceilings in the antique-furnished rooms. So the place has real character. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The price was excellent value. The tower and the duomo are within easy walking distance.... More

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed in this hotel and we just love it. For all those hoping for luxury and chic go elsewhere. This place is full of antiques and beautiful frescos on the ceilings. Ask for a river view - the street is quite nosy but now that they have air con in the rooms... More

Old hotel, very elegant, centrally located. No AC, and my room overlooking the Arno had a great view but was noisy! But with earplugs and the bathroom fan on, sleep was no problem. The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. The common areas of the hotel are vast and entertaining; many of my buddies (I was there for a conference)... More

Like stepping back in time, this hotel seems to be still in the 50's. However, the room was clean and OK for one night, although as it was on the river front, it was noisy. The bathroom and breakfast could have been better. Go here to see the furniture and how hotels were years ago. The reception staff were very... More

The hotel is getting old and shows it, could use some freshening, but it is still worth the cost, got a room overlooking the river, good views, but the street can be noisy, staff was very professional and the public rooms are very comfortable and the roof terrace was nice to sit in and relax in the late afternoon.

Past reviews including harsh criticisms of this hotel. Our experience was quite different and much happier. The hotel has a splendid location on the Arno River, easy walking distance to the train station and to the Cattedrale and Torre. The staff at the reception desk was uniformly friendly and very helpful. The public spaces are immense for a small hotel,... More

Pisa is like a disk where Hotel Royal Victoria would be the center. So, you are near the restaurants, coffes, buses, taxis... From the central station, 950 meters or bus 5 minutes, you can reach Firenze in 1 hour. The reception is very helpfull. At the hoitel, you can rent bike, car (Mercedes Smart). The first evening, we arrived late... More

It's not cheap, but it's interesting. This hotel is characterful to visit but not so comfortable to stay in. Our beds wer really saggy and creaky. The windows were rattly and draughty. it was noisy. the bathroom was really old - last refitted circa 1950 and not too nice. but the public spaces were most intersting, with old prints, photos... While we had asked for a quite room, we did not get one. The public areas and hotel's location is better than most, but the room have seen better days. We had a large room in the back of the hotel, on the third floor. We got to hear every movement the guests above us made, as well as everything... More

Large with grand, interesting public spaces. Our room was cavernous and creaky. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable. Bed was passable. Skeleton keys for rooms. Another guest actually opened our room by accident with her key one morning - startled her and us (though my wife was awake in bed and kind of heard it coming - I was awakened... More
