I slept there one night and I really enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are big and quiet with nice furniture. I would qualify it more as a boutique hotel. It's location is perfect for visiting the wonderful city of Lucca and also having a parking place for your car.

San Luca Palace was wonderful. The concierge was always helpful whether we needed dinner recommendations/reservations, directions, bus schedules, etc. The rooms are pristinely clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location of this hotel is great and the breakfast is wonderful too!!!

This hotel is very well situated just inside Lucca's city walls. It was easy to drive to, and car parking is provided. The staff are very helpful, got us out the hotel bikes to ride around the walls and through town, booked restaunts and drew on maps where to go. Breakfast was good and plentiful, both hot and cold food... More

Our room was large and for Valentine’s Day, we were given chocolates. The rooms have a mini bar, but the hotel does not supply free water. Breakfast was nice, with eggs, bacon, smoked salmon, and other choices. Made to order cappuccinos are provided. The hotel also has a small bar where you can get drinks, coffee, or tea throughout the... More

We stayed here for three nights, and it really was excellent. The staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient, and take great pride in the hotel. We parked in the hotel car park. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and our bedroom was huge, with a large bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was fabulous! We had a room at... More

The hotel was perfect for a visit to Lucca. Inside the walls and close enough to one of the entry points and parking to make it convenient. The hotel staff was accommodating, kind and very helpful. The street was nice and, as most of Lucca, is walking distance to everything. Good food and shopping are within a few blocks. The... More

Excellent hotel in terms of everything that matters ... location (inside the walls, but still easily to locate with a car so you don't have to negotiate the narrow streets), staff friendliness, room size/quality/cleanliness. We booked only a standard room yet were still extremely impressed by all facets of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Located at the intersection of a lively pedestrian street and Luca's pedestrian city walls, the rooms overlooking the street on the same side as hotel entrance have no view (except the building across from the hotel) regardless how high the floor. The bed was excellent quality, the room beautifully designed and perfectly cleaned. The hotel staff was consistently wonderful -... More

Technically speaking, there is nothing wrong with this hotel. It's all a matter of preference. The room is clean, the bathroom is fine and the service was great. The location is also perfect, just inside the wall of Lucca. I just do not like super ornate decor. I do not like burgundy or green bedspreads and curtains because I often... More

This hotel is just 7 years old.   But the building served as a hospital (resting place) for pilgrims on their way to Rome in the 16,17 and 18th centuries.   It is just inside  one of the entrances to the walled city and walking distance from the main square.   Actually, everything within the walls is walking distance from...
