We have just returned from a great break in Tuscany, starting at the San Luca Palace in Lucca before moving onto Via Reggio. If we could do it all over again we would have stayed longer in Lucca, and one of the main reasons being the fantastic stay at the San Luca Palace hotel. The location is excellent, being within... We have just returned from the San Luca Palace in Lucca, and cannot praise it enough. If it were bigger and had large-scale facilities such as a swimming pool it would no doubt be graded as five-star - but then it would lose its character as a welcoming, family-run hotel. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The reception... More

Stayed here for two nights on a whim. I was immediately wowed by the room - it was huge and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was the same - I particularly like the shower design with the built in seat. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. My only complaint was the air conditioning which I couldn't seem to regulate properly... More

We stayed here for two nights at the end of May. We had a large, very comfortable room with beautiful furnishings and that rarity in European hotels, good lighting (including light for reading). The breakfast buffet is ample and everything was very fresh. Everyone on the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. A walk around (on top of) the wall... More

We recently stayed at this hotel and can't say enough about the wonderful staff. We were originally going to stay at a nearby hotel that was rated 5 stars and were so disappointed when we walked into it that we left and were able to get the only available room left at San Luca Palace Hotel at the last minute.... We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of a trip to Tuscany. Everything was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and were happy to book us a table at a local restaurant. The room was large and comfortable. Lucca is a lovely town and the fact that the hotel is right in the centre made it very easy... More

We stopped for 2 nights at the end of June. The hotel is in great location inside the city walls, and we left the car in the hotel’s own car park. The hotel itself has welcoming and helpful staff who were great to us when we arrived very late after a delayed flight and with one bag still at Heathrow.... More

We only had one night at this hotel, but it was a wonderful stay. We arrived early, after a flight from the east coast, and were thrilled when the staff told us our room would be ready in a few minutes, and would we like complimentary breakfast while we waited? It was a perfect welcome to a family of five... More

Well located, near the main bus stop. Clean and good-sized room on the top floor with a view over the roofs of the city. Helpful reception staff and a brilliant barman ever-ready to supply teapots of boiling hot water for making tea - there are no facilities in the rooms. The only slight disappointment was the quality of the breakfast.... More

We stayed at the San Luca Palace for a couple of nights on our mini tour around Tuscany as part of our honeymoon, we are so pleased we did, what a gem! It is a great boutique hotel located within the city walls where everything is with a gentle stroll through the beautiful streets of Lucca. We had a room... More
