We stayed three nights at Relais San Lorenzo and it was excellent. It is the perfect location from which to explore Lucca and it's lovely to stay in such a beautiful building. The service we received was excellent and the olive oil we were given when we left was a great surprise! Our room was spacious and very carefully decorated... More

The Relais San Lorenzo is a lovely place to stay. It's located in a quiet part of Lucca in a town house. The rooms are all very traditional and individual, but the bathroom facilities are very modern. The room was very comfortable and there were complimentary drinks in the fridge. The breakfast room is reminiscent of a 19th century salon... More

I am posting late but this place deserves a great review even late! The service was excellent, the breakfast was delicious and the beds were comfy. It's a quite place with low key elegance. There were homemade omelettes and an array of other tasty goodies for breakfast. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. I can't say enough good about... More

We have just returned from 4 nights in Relais San Lorenzo. It is just in a perfect location – in a quiet street but very close to the centre of old Lucca. We were made very welcome from the first minute to last with Daniela making us feel like house guests rather than clients. Breakfast was ample - a delicious... More

What a nice hotel this is. It is located a bit into town quietly but perfectly located. The owner was a nice lady who made us feel very welcome. She made her own breakfast and baked cookies in the morning. The room was so romantic. We felt the history swept through. Highly recommended!

This quaint B&B / hotel resides in a building that dates back to the time of the Renaissance and was once the home of a Luccanese Nobelso, so keep that in mind if you decide to stay there. Each room is unique, replete with it's own character and features. Ours was comfortable, clean and came with a separate second entry/exit... More

We stayed at the Relais San Lorenzo during our 2 day stay in Lucca. After a 20 minute walk from the train station (through the walled town)we arrived at the B&B at roughly 02:30pm but were dismayed that the gate up was closed. We wondered what we got ourselves into. I guess we should have read our reservation more carefully,... More

Relais San Lorenzo is an outstanding place to stay in Lucca and I endorse all the positive comments made in previous reviews. The location in the centre of the beautiful old town and about 15 minutes walk from the train station is perfect. (We used the train for day trips to Florence, Siena, Pisa and Viareggio). The building, a former... More

Very nice place to stay on the far end of town (a ten minute walk from main wall entrance). Very clean and the breakfast room was the nicest of our stay. Good beds and nice bathrooms. It is a place I would not hesitate to bring my wife to. They also stock the refrigerator with a two waters, two sodas... More

Danielle, the hostess, was helpful and gracious. The B&B is part of a palazzo. You enter through large wooden doors and see a lovely ceiling fresco. Further, there is a view to the courtyard. On the right is a scrolled gate that leads to the B&B. Walk up the marble steps to the apartment. Inside is a reception desk then... More
