We stayed here only one night while traveling by motorcycle. The main building is decorated as a country retreat, with welcoming rooms in which to relax. Our room featured a rustic ceiling with very old wooden beams. It was simply furnished with very comfortable beds and the bathroom was very nice and modern. The family owns a large tract of... More

We stayed here as part of an anniversary trip. Marco and Andrea were wonderful hosts, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Our room was beautifully rustic. The AC made more noise than cold air, but we just opened the windows of our corner room and enjoyed the cool breeze instead. The room was... More

We booked this hotel the night before due to a change in travel plans. I'm not sure if I've ever stayed at a hotel I loved more. We originally booked at Castello di Mammoli and when we arrived Adriana told us that she thought the suite in Villa Volpi would be better for us. She was SPOT on. (And Adriana... More

As couple we booked this for a special anniversary and wanted to stay a week. After the booking was accepted we then got an email to say we would have to move out of our room to a lesser room by the weekend as they were booking a wedding party and the party wanted the room we had booked. Very... More

We had booked 4 nights at Castello di Mammoli. When we checked in, the owner Marco suggested that we would stay at Villa Volpi instead where he had a perfect house for us (2 adults and 3 teenagers). It was really perfect with a fantastic view over the landscape and the old citadel that is located on a hilltop. Great... More

We stayed at this hotel on a Beach's Motorcycle Adv. vacation. The hotel is off on it's own with a sprawling property with grapes and olives growing all around. The hotel drips character with nice sized rooms and enough modern touches to make them comfortable without demising it's old world charm. We had a very good meal in the restaurant... More

This is a beautiful hotel in the hills north of Lucca. Car with Nav required to find it, however. Very poor signage. You'll like once there, however --assuming you don't mind a twisty, turny drive there and back. Marco and Adriana are fine hosts. Rooms very nice if not elegant.

This place was a little hard to find, although we should have relied on the Google Maps earlier and not tried to figure it out ourselves. It is about 15min from the main, walled city of Lucca. It is a converted monastery in an idyllic setting in the Tuscan hills, surrounded by olive groves, winding roads and hilltop chapels. It... More

Stayed for a long weekend at Villa Volpi, magnificent experience. From the warm welcome of Marco and Adrianna to the nice upgrade into a duplex independent villa all the way to the great surroundings and unique Lucca 15min away. We recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the Lucca area and wanting to stay on the hills and relax by the... More

When we called in the afternoon from Milan explaining that we were delayed due to traffic, the desk clerk (Michael) told us to follow the signs for Villa Volpi and that we probably wouldn't make it in until later than we anticipated. He offered to "look for" us if we couldn't find the hotel. We were impressed by his sincere... More
